Trump rambled at the UN that:-

* their climate predictions will be wrong because they have 'stupid people' working in climate science (ha ha ha - irony much!!?),

* he ended 7 wars. (Nurse! Nurse! He's out of bed again!)

* the EU should adopt the SAME immigration tactics as Trump.

* international immigration is their fault and because of it all the other countries in the world are 'going to hell'. (What kind of international statesman SAYS that to the UN!?)

* Trump is SO much better than Joe Biden! (Relevance at the UN? Do you know where you are?)

* he was a great real estate developer and even looked at redeveloping the UN site. (Who cares? Relevance? Oh yeah - his NPD cares! The world might forget how utterly fantabulous Trump is - so he'd better toot his own trumpet at them! He needs his narcissistic supply and all that.)

The United Nations issued a statement about the incident, saying that the escalator stopping might have been triggered by a safety feature as a [Trump posse] videographer was standing backward on the escalator, ahead of the president, while trying to film him.

But you're right - I do love the melodrama about the escalator inconveniencing him when his motorcade blocks off the French President's access to the entire area - and so Macron had to hoof it on pedestrian power to hear the pugilistic and pugnacious President peppering his presentation with little poison pills!

And some of them were not so little!
