  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

There is this book that I have (I've had it since the beginning of this year and never read it), called The Resurrection. The author (whose name in the subject line) is very highly praised for his writing style but I'm not very far into the book and I feel like his writing style is annoying. I call it annoying because while it is extremely whimsical and sharp, there are many times when the way he phrases things make me go "What the heck is he talking about? or "I can't freaking understand what the heck he means by this."

I just got done reading that one book "The Four Last Things" by Martin von Cochem and I struggled with the negativity of that book, and I thought this would be a welcome, opposite change but I can't decide whether to appreciate Fabrice's writing style or be annoyed at heck about it. I'm barely up to page 35 so maybe my opinion may change.

I know, "don't judge the book by its cover" but the cover is so appealing ^_^

Not all books are good reads. Not all are worth the bother. Some should have remained trees.

Boy is that ever correct. Have you tried reading the book?
Nope. Not on my radar even. I have a long backlog of worthy books to read though. Working on Steve Ray's commentary on Genesis right now.

This book is still on probation for me because I want to see if it gets any better. It's tempting for me to throw the baby out with the bathwater because a sentence pops out on every other page that makes me go "What the...?"
