  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You took me on quite the logic journey… If a 9 year old were dancing and people were throwing money at them, I’d say the people who need adjusting in that scenario are the people throwing money. Leather and whip circus…? lol, what? How did we go from drag queen story hour to leather and whips at a pride parade?
I think because drag queen story hour and pride parade are related. It has to do with LGBT et al.

And yes, adults should know not to do that regarding throwing money at a 9 year old dancing provocatively, but some just don’t care. It’s disturbing.

I was born in 1995. Times have been changing regarding names.

You don’t see many men named Ashley or Mackenzie anymore, either.
Since 2004, Riley has been a mainly girls name, according to the census.

It’s not declared. It is. Biology.
You have declared it. That makes it declared, but by you. All I see is a name more known as a female name. I have to go by what I see. Like I said, to be consistent with my spirituality, I have to go by what I see and the judgments I make based off of what I see, not pronouns request or declare. What’s so bad about embracing being a woman? There’s nothing shameful about being female, so you should be proud to represent the gender I think you have.

In the US, Riley as a girl’s name is 42, while as a boy it’s 229. It’s much more common as a girls name.

Your declared gender. As we previously discussed, you and I don’t acknowledge declared pronouns.

I don’t know that. I’m only going by what I see.
Random.

I know a woman named Brett. A woman named Dylan. A man named Tracy. A woman named Austin.

Not common for their gender, but they’re still unisex.

Same with Tyler, Taylor, Jordan, Maxwell, Casey, Payton, Terry. Francis/Frances. I can go on.

How so? Not all drag queens are gay. Not all people at pride parades are gay. Why are you sexualizing people and bringing sex into the discussion?

And yes, adults should know not to do that regarding throwing money at a 9 year old dancing provocatively, but some just don’t care. It’s disturbing.
So then blame the parents throwing money at the kid…

Ah, I was born before 2004.

My dads cousin’s son has the same name as me and is male (I was named in honor of him because his mother died from cancer)

There’s nothing wrong with being a woman. Never said so. Women are great!

I’m just a guy, and that’s just how it is

I’m going by what I see. If I see people with names that appear more masculine or feminine who have declared their pronouns to be the opposite, I’ll deal with them when I see them. I can’t decide what pronoun I will use until I evaluate the circumstances. Going by what people declare is too unreliable because of transgender people. I’m sure you understand given that you don’t go by declared pronouns either and are concerned by the transgender issue.

Most drag queens are gay men, not all. Some people see it as related because it’s often associated with that community.

I think the point was pride parades are often PERCEIVED to be sexual in nature, which some people object. Sexual activity is private and belongs in the bedroom.

Yes. The parents should also be held accountable.

I understand. I’m very obviously male and stated so.

We are getting off topic, so I won’t comment further.

Because in both situations, the intent is to normalize sexual deviance so sexual deviants won't feel ashamed of it anymore. Hence...PRIDE! Which is another problem and a topic for another day. That topic being that people have no shame anymore. Therefore, they lack dignity and self-respect.

For the far right, I get it the real fear. These guys are reading books to innocent kids. And those far right guys know what happens to kids if they grow up with a habit of reading books. Their recruiting pool is people who don't read. That's the "grooming" they fear.

The one I know about was about colors and how they mix to form other colors. Which I guess you could kinda interpret as "liberal", but it would be a huge reach. You have any checkable examples?
I looked it up. It is about the rainbow flag used by the sexual perverted who are proud of who they are. As impressionable as young children are, I can see why these people would want to target little kids with their propaganda.

It’s disgusting. These people should be ashamed of themselves.

Link? So far, no one who has told me this, has been able to substantiate it. You have any checkable examples? I'm not challenging your honesty, but the sites where I've seen this, never seem to be able to show that it's true. What do you have?

Mixing colors? That's it?

Why are you assuming anybody talks about sex while they’re there? Thats an odd thing for you to sexualize… It’s kids, my dude. If your mind goes to whom the drag queen is having sex with outside of the library, I 1,000% promise you that is a you problem, not a drag queen problem.

Hence...PRIDE! Which is another problem and a topic for another day. That topic being that people have no shame anymore. Therefore, they lack dignity and self-respect.
Tell me about it. We got people on here theorizing on the sexual behaviors of people who are reading books to kids, then blaming the readers for the fantasies they’ve created… They could have avoided all that trouble if they simply didn’t fantasize about the gay sex they find so objectionable, that they assume this other person is having. It’s what the rest of us do.

Thankfully at every reading I’ve been to, the majority of people are able to be normal and just have fun. But I agree with you… People who mentally go to a place of sexualizing strangers so easily probably shouldn’t be around kids. Imagine if they see somebody who’s really flaunting their sex life for the world to see, like a pregnant woman. Holy smokes, what chaos.
