Radical Islamic countries have zero problem with throwing gay men off of buildings. Politics aside.

The two (LGBT et al, and Islam) are oil and water- they will NEVER mix well together.

As an ex-British colony, the Church-of-England (Anglican) had strong numbers, so had the Roman Catholic church along with many other denominations. Currently there is a left-wing Federal Government focused on censorship of social media (via the route of 'protecting children'), and indeed criticism of Islam can easily be blocked using religious vilification/defamation/hate speech laws which seem to become even more strict in the nearby future. Australia does not have protected free speech like the USA.

It looks like it is taking its playbook from the UK - introduce broad/unspecific laws and then selective/two-tiered policing. This allows authorities to only suppress those elements/voices deemed unwanted. The threat of costly legal defence already is sufficient to muzzle public discourse.

Current biggest migration flows are Indians, before that Chinese, but AU e.g. also took in a record number of Gazans.

To illustrate: if Charlie Kirk would have lived and debated in Australia - it is my assessment he already would have been imprisoned for several years simply for stating what he has said in the USA.
