I don’t think enneagrams are a parlor trick, but it is just a refined version of the Greek humors. The mix of personality types can change with age and circumstances. Although interesting and useful, not too much weight should be given.
I used that verbiage for a reason. ;-)
The results are based on your answers at the moment and assume a level of honesty and self-awareness. It‘s easy to project your ideal self on a quiz and the outcomes aren’t scientific. A more accurate analysis would involve real life experiences in relation to the assessment.
In other words, if it says you’re a leader where are you doing that? Who’s trusted you in that capacity? I’ve taken MBTI, DISC and the Enneagram and the results are similar but it’s not my identity. I don’t need the enneagram to tell me I’m an achiever. I live it everyday and we know the tree by its fruit not a personality quiz.
What separates thought and want is performance. You’re not a writer until you write. It doesn’t matter what vehicle affirms your ability to do so. It isn’t real until it happens. Calling yourself this or that doesn’t make it so. That’s why faith without works is dead.
The more you grow in God the less you cling to the world’s descriptions. You’re not trying to fit the mold. You’ve grown beyond it and it can’t contain you. The majority like these tests because they want to become the result or be viewed that way by others. But the Lord’s way is best. He didn’t knit us together through multiple choice. His creations are customized.
So why would you seek the lesser? That‘s why its important to know who you are and Whose you are as well.
