  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I love deep thinking especially God/end times/bible/do something for God anyone that can think deep or INFJ introvert etc here?

I don’t think enneagrams are a parlor trick, but it is just a refined version of the Greek humors. The mix of personality types can change with age and circumstances. Although interesting and useful, not too much weight should be given.

I used that verbiage for a reason. ;-)

The results are based on your answers at the moment and assume a level of honesty and self-awareness. It‘s easy to project your ideal self on a quiz and the outcomes aren’t scientific. A more accurate analysis would involve real life experiences in relation to the assessment.

In other words, if it says you’re a leader where are you doing that? Who’s trusted you in that capacity? I’ve taken MBTI, DISC and the Enneagram and the results are similar but it’s not my identity. I don’t need the enneagram to tell me I’m an achiever. I live it everyday and we know the tree by its fruit not a personality quiz.

What separates thought and want is performance. You’re not a writer until you write. It doesn’t matter what vehicle affirms your ability to do so. It isn’t real until it happens. Calling yourself this or that doesn’t make it so. That’s why faith without works is dead.

The more you grow in God the less you cling to the world’s descriptions. You’re not trying to fit the mold. You’ve grown beyond it and it can’t contain you. The majority like these tests because they want to become the result or be viewed that way by others. But the Lord’s way is best. He didn’t knit us together through multiple choice. His creations are customized.

So why would you seek the lesser? That‘s why its important to know who you are and Whose you are as well.

I admit that these tests for temperaments are not very useful as one becomes established in life and a career. However, when starting out or making a big change, they can help in decision making. The results should not be a major factor, but they might help. I particularly dislike Howard Gardner’s types of intelligences, because it is misused to make everybody feel “above average.” Some people are just not intelligent at all, but they might have deep faith and love for God and fellow humans. Some people are very intelligent and horrible human beings. “Intelligences” is misleading. What they now call “musical intelligence” is just musical talent. God’s ways are always best, and He gives us talents, but it doesn’t make us intelligent. There can be a lot of good in modern psychology, but it too often plays on selfishness.

There’s a saying among Native Americans that mirrors our sentiments in relation to their teachings on animal medicine. Which is their way of explaining gifts and talents through that medium. Much like you noted in your example they made similar observations. People clamored for the greatest or more important animals from their perspective. Like the lion, bear, raven and wolf. But the animal kingdom is diverse. All cannot be the four and big doesn’t mean best. One of the benefits of that principle was learning to embrace all facets of my person. Including the qualities that weren’t attention getting but significant nonetheless.

We’re living in a time when exceptional is normalized and it’s skewing our perception of ourselves and others. But when you look in the bible you see otherwise and the majority are average and there’s nothing wrong with that.

We are fine. Thanks for asking. At the beginning of the war, it was a little scary, and there were a lot of military aircraft. Now, it is quieter. Ukraine is about 100km away, but we are a long way from the battle fronts.
Good to hear you are okay. It must be so scary that close. Lets pray this ends

just like there is a saying or common knowledge among some that there are different levels of people. Not less, or more. Just is. There are the salt of the earth people, the ones that are happy with daily routines, work and some fun in a while and not thinking more or further or deeper. the seeking pleasure types are among those too. The reliable hard workers too. ( I sorely respect the reliability and trustworthy of those) Then there are the intellectuals. They want more mental stimulation and seek vocations accordingly, usually, not always. They can be everywhere. They want to talk more engage more, more mental stimulation and thought. more knowledge seeking. Then we have the visionaries. The ones like Elon Musk. The ones who dream, and talk about it, and have thoughts and ideas on a high level. Not less. not more. just is. They seek like minded and expand and build and do something for humanity, big ideas, big inspirations, nothing is too little or too big to talk about. Your dreams? out with them. your subconscious?out with it. nothing too strange or far out for them. accept everyone.
The last group obviously have the hardest time to "fit in". And they shouldn`t. Really.
There will always be different levels like this to be and think and relate. What matters is, are we big enough, tolerant enough, loving enough, accepting enough to just let everyone be? to still be loving and hear everyone and include everyone? that is where the connection starts, and wars ends. we can`t afford any longer to be small minded. our faith has nothing to do with it, but it is tested by it. How much can we love, really? can we stand strong in our faith no matter what comes our way? I think that is where it stands, and where wars end.

We’re not going to interact with everyone or have access to them either. If you’re pursuing your vocation or life’s work the bulk of your engagements are within a narrow group and that doesn’t mean exclusion. For instance, I don’t have conversations like these outside of the site because it isn’t my focus. I’m concerned with business, commerce and investments and that’s my circle. It doesn’t mean other topics aren’t valuable but the Lord requires my attention elsewhere.

So when you speak of tolerance, I rarely have contact with anyone where that’s an issue. We’re on the same page and pursuing the same work and interests. And I hope others are following suit where the Lord needs them.

The best advice I can give is to mind your money. Don‘t ask anyone for tips. Find a subject you’re interested in and do your research. They’re going to be topics you may not be comfortable with in light of your beliefs and others you’re willing to consider with parameters. Defense is a good example. Can you support a company that creates weapons used for war? Or is it acceptable if that isn’t the bulk of their business?

The other thing to bear in mind are your resources and risk tolerance. What can you afford to tie up or lose? And what are the tax policies where you live on capital gains? The best way to fund investments is through a side hustle. You’re not taking from your primary income source and the extra works on your behalf.

However, I think it’s more important to create multiple income streams. That’s the starting point from my perspective. Once you know how to make money you’ll be able to allocate greater resources towards investments and other things without encumbrance.

If I had $100 to spend each month I would put it towards something I could sell online that generates an income. And I’d keep doing it every month until I had several things in the market paying me weekly and exceeding my main source. And I’d continue feeding that and funnel some of the profits towards investments.

When you have a salary or monthly benefit you gauge your resources along those lines. But when you create your own income sources you count them by the day. And everyday can be a payday if you’re disciplined. That’s how you build wealth and buy back your time.

Cast your bread on the surface of the waters, [be diligently active, make thoughtful decisions], for you will find it after many days. Give a portion to seven, or even [divide it] to eight, for you do not know what misfortune may occur on the earth.
