  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sure, if I had to pick a single person to blame, it would probably be Newt Gingrich. But Charlie Kirk absolutely contributed to the divide.
Plenty of blame for the divide of tribalism in America is also on the left wing liberals. Charlie Kirk believes in peaceful dialog. It's too bad that the radical leftists don't also believe in that.

So everyone who does not support Trump are responsible for a death? Most do not celebrate a murder. Many care even about the N. Korean civilians killed in a Seal raid during Trump's first term, or even the alleged drug traffickers that got killed in international waters without a trial.
Some too are conservatives that do not support Trump's heavy spending and lack of market economic principles. Many too are just low on Maslow's hierarchy of needs to have the luxury to think beyond paying the rent and food bills. Dialing it up accusing the innocent is quite unreasonable even in the bible.
Sorry, I was going for sarcasm but failed.

All this left and right bickering and division we’re seeing in every Charlie Kirk thread is precisely the legacy he’s left behind.
Please don't dismiss the step-up in violent rhetoric by a number of elite leaders on the left as "left and right bickering." We all need to face reality. These leaders have been called out before this assassination and keep doubling down on those tactics. Their followers need to let Jasmine Crockett and Omar and the rest of the leaders know that their actions are unacceptable.

Look up the Italian Years of Lead and the Strategy of Tension. The only thing that is different now is the Trump regime leans more into stochastic terrorism than direct state involvement.

There is no evidence that Tyler Robinson was "radical left". Edgelord memes just mean he was chronically online, it doesn't track to a coherent political ideology.

Sounds like a testable belief. Let's take a look...

Through the first dataset, the Profiles of Individual Radicalization in the United States (PIRUS), the researchers zeroed in on acts of extremism in the United States from 1948-2018. They found nearly no difference between the likelihood of an Islamist extremist and a right-wing extremist committing an act of violence; the probability of a violent act of extremism in the United States being committed by a left-wing extremist was found to be 0.33, 0.61 by a right-wing extremist, and 0.62 by an Islamist extremist.

So left-wing extremists are about half as likely to be violent as right-wing extremists. Which is significant, but the threat is still significant. Kirk seems to have been an exception to the right-wing tendency to political violence. Ironically, that might have been why he was killed; more violent extremists like Nick Fuentes' Goypers detested Kirk. His killer seems to be one of them.

And ultimately, that is what killed him. A right-winger so indoctrinated that he put Goyper slogans on his bullets, to kill someone for not being extreme right enough. Nick Fuentes targeted Kirk for hatred, and one of them acted on it.

A MAGA Groyper? Charlie Kirk shooter Tyler Robinson's political leaning unclear; Nick Fuentes reacts to 'pure evil' - The Times of India

Robinson was not a Groyper in any meaningful sense. He's from the same generation, probably inhabits some of the same spaces, but just because some of the memes are similar doesn't mean he shares a coherent ideology with Nick Fuentes.

His partner was transitioning from male to female, what is further left than that?

Charlie Kirk embodied smug contempt for millions of his fellow Americans who couldn't emulate his tradfamily lifestyle, paid for of course by billionaire dark money. He was not a man of peace in any deeply biblical sense, he was out to demean and scapegroat through pseudo-intellectual sophistry.

That doesn't mean a person is a leftist, much less on the "further left".

Your leftist opinion could not be more wrong and incorrect, even if you tried harder.

I have learned to take what is said on the internet, social media, with a large grain of salt. That place is the wild wild west. What should be of note is how political leaders in the US, including their family members react to the loss of Kirk. There is no escaping how the right has in fact made this politically charged. No matter how much they try to gaslight and deflect.

It's not particularly "left" really--nothing to do with the economic and political "left" at any rate.

I am aware of a Republican who did that transition and that didn't make Caitlyn a leftist.

Balderdash. The transgenderism agenda comes from the far left.

Jenner publicly came out as a trans woman in April 2015, announcing her new name in July of that year.[5] From 2015 to 2016, she starred in the reality television series I Am Cait, which focused on her gender transition. At the time of her coming out, she had been called the most famous trans woman in the world. Jenner is a transgender rights activist ...

A member of the Republican Party, Jenner ran in the 2021 California gubernatorial recall election, finishing 13th with one percent of the vote Six months after the election, Jenner was hired by Fox News as an on-air contributor

Does it? Bernie supports transgender rights as part of a general policy of nondiscrimination. He nor his followers certainly didn't invent the "transgenderism agenda."

Jenner is an exception. But she doesn't agree with the leftist obsession over transgendering minors.

80% of Americans disagree with Bernie and his followers about the transgender agenda.
