  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I also agree with him. Its something ive been saying for a long time. But too many on the left cant seem to help.themselves in their hatred for conservatives. And in Charlies death one of theirs gave out the hate written on a bullet.

The trans person did that at the Catholic School.

The dude in Minnesota did that.
You know that the right has done more political violence than the left.

Maybe the hatred is getting to be too much cause you keep killing them..or slandering them and stuff.
I imagine you believe Republicans don't hate democrats?

You're saying that when people fet triggered you could expect some irrational action?
This wasn't just a heat of the moment irrational action. This was planned and premeditated. An irrational action would be if you came up to me and bumped me and I punched you in the face.

If someone killed my wife and then came up to me and said she deserved it would my reaction actually be irrational? Well, maybe if I took out a gun and killed them with it. That might be irrational. But me saying dumb things doesn't necessarily fit the bill. Me punching them in the face probably would be a very rational response in the heat of the moment.

An irrational statement often elicits an irrational response.

In this case Charlies murder can in no way be deemed simply an irrational response to a trigger. This was a planned event.

Nope, didn't happen.

Now you are upset over people.being fired for their views? Whatever happened to that point of view when people were being fired for disagreeing with trans ideology? Or girls being threatened when rhey didnt want boys in their spaces? Or maybe people being threatened or fired because they didn't support the BLM movement? Where was all your angst then?

A guy is DEAD. Killed by a leftist and you are upset because people got fired for posting celebrations over his death or saying things about how he deserved it in some fashion?

Sure some right wing folks are really angry. I dont blame them. And in their anger they've lashed out with some stupid thoughts. What did you expect? Calmness and reasonableness from some who havent really shown themselves to be reasonable in the first place? Like some of the shock jocks or Proud Boys?

Yes, the Democrats and leftists do have blood on their hands for the things they have said in calling us Hitler, Nazis, every phobe in the book, racists, bigots etc.
As I have heard more than once from the left that freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences. And we heard it in spades regarding Charlies death. I guess that was his consequence for using his freedom.of speech. And the firing of people was the consequence of using theirs.

Sorry but your angst rings far too hollow for me.

I dont think.ANYONE should be fired for not supporting a particular political or ideological point of view. Whether that be in support of abortion or in opposition to transgenderism.

I have no issues though in someone being let go for being so callous as to celebrate the assassination of a person you disagree with ideologically with in violation of the policies or code of conduct within those businesses. That's some real twisted sick stuff.

I also agree with him. Its something ive been saying for a long time. But too many on the left cant seem to help.themselves in their hatred for conservatives. And in Charlies death one of theirs gave out the hate written on a bullet.

All the left heard was "he's from. Kenya" and "I'm sure she's a muslim". I remember reading thr latter on christian forums though most posters were hesitant to go the Kenya route.

And then there was the large group of "I know he's American but if he just showed his birth certificate the debate would end"

Yeah. Race was ABSOLUTELY an issue for some with Obama.
I disagree! It’s not a race issue , it is a truthfulness issue. There is much evidence of his ties to Islam while he was presented as a Christian. Obama help create the controversy around his birth certificate by the initial stonewalling and still there are inconsistencies surrounding it. The Kenya issue was not about his race it was about his eligibility. I am not saying no one is racist some obviously are are but that was not the overriding problem. Racism is the rallying cry of many on the left.

That dude who murdered that law maker in Minnesota is as evil and wicked as the one that killed Charlie. We cant murder our way out of this division.
I think deranged and disturbed are better descriptions in both cases.

All the J6 claims have been debunked. The Feds were the only ones doing damage that day while the patriots were escorted in and around by Capitol Police and had a nice tour.
That is a complete fantasy.

Early reports say weapon has been recovered with clues showing that trans ideology may be a factor. Time will tell.
Would not be shocked. A small minority of people can lash out horribly when they feel like their liberties or other ideological commitments are at stake.

We see this from both "left" and "right" people.

That wasn't about race, it was about legitimate citizenship.
Sure it wasn't.

Obama was born in Hawaii to an American mother. Either of those is enough to make him a natural born citizen of the USA.

His opponent was born in the Panama Canal Territory to an American mother. Only the latter made him a natural born citizen of the USA.

Nope, didn't happen.
Yep, it did happen. I posted about it here:

And here:

We deleted and warned folks on this site referring to Michelle Obama as 'and ape in heels.' It was used by Republicans during and after his term:
https://www.bbc.com/news/election-us-2016-379859670

Yeah, it happened. To deny it is to live in your own bubble of reality that does not exist.

I don't think it was good that Charlie Kirk was shot. It is a terrible thing to happen.
But if people point out that he is not a saint on social media, not a work site, I don't think they should be quickly fired.

Republicans celebrate Kirk's freedom of speech ring hollow when the Trump administration is putting a thumb down on the freedom of the press (ABC, CBS, NPR, PBS, suit against the Wall Street Journal, banning AP from the White House, and much more) and this is cheered by MAGA. 'Freedom of speech for me but not for thee' is what is happening in practice in this administration. That along side Trump's attacks on Harvard, Columbia and more are attacks on free speech.

Yes, the Democrats and leftists do have blood on their hands for the things they have said in calling us Hitler, Nazis, every phobe in the book, racists, bigots etc.

:tantrum: Yes, poor Republicans. What have Dems been called? Names found on the Admin Announcement about unacceptable nicknames, like 'commies'. And according to Trump, Democrats (all) are the "enemy within". Others very recently called Democrats (all) "evil" and "can't be compromised with".

From AI overview we have some quotes:

  • On immigration: "Harris has imported criminal migrants from prisons and jails, insane asylums and mental institutions from all around the world, from Venezuela to the Congo" (Fact-checkers have debunked this claim).
  • "They've done very bad things to this country. They are indeed the enemy from within": In reference to his political opponents, he claimed they had harmed the country.
Grant Cardone: Called Vice President Kamala Harris "the devil" and said she and her "pimp handlers will destroy our country".
  • Sid Rosenberg: The conservative radio host referred to the entire Democratic Party as "a bunch of degenerates" and "Jew-haters and lowlifes".
  • David Rem (Trump's childhood friend): Referred to Harris as "the devil" and "the Antichrist".
Liz Cheney agreed with Dems on the Jan 6th insurrection. Trump:
At a campaign event on October 31, Trump said of former U.S. Representative Liz Cheney, “She’s a radical war hawk. Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, okay? Let’s see how she feels about it ... when the guns are trained on her face.”

Regarding Charlie Kirk, he called for the execution of Biden on his show. I watched it this am.
quote is here
Yes, Charlie Kirk called for Joe Biden to receive the death penalty in July 2023, describing it as punishment for "crimes against America." During an episode of The Charlie Kirk Show, he stated: "I know what you're thinking, we've got to get Joe Biden out of the way so we can run against Kammy. Oh my goodness, is she beatable. ... [Biden] should be put in prison and/or given the death penalty for crimes against America."
The definition of 'celebrate' in regards to Charlie Kirk's death seems too fluid.

Wow. He was not a decent fellow.

Of course he should have been free to spread his indecency, and challenged at every opportunity. But never by violence.

I can't find an archive of the Charlie Kirk Show that goes back that far to confirm whether or not he actually said that in the July 24, 2023 episode, but your AI "fact check" site appears to have only used two sources, both of which are just articles about Kirk's death, so I wouldn't exactly call that conclusive evidence that the Media Matters article is faked - especially since it dates all the way back to July of 2023 and was posted the same day that episode of Kirk's show supposedly aired.

...uses poorly done and obviously incorrect AI to decry "poorly done and obviously fake AI"... classic

Tell me, did you even bother to read your supposed proof or look at the two articles it cited? I doubt you did, because if you had, you'd have noticed that neither of them even broached the subject. Your AI bot didn't even look at the relevant articles.

Regarding whether or not this was fake, others commented on it at the time:

If you put the same question into Grok, it'll confirm that he said it. If you enter it as "joe biden" instead of just "biden", it'll even give some citations.

I didn't even know Factually.com was AI. I thought it was a regular old website. Regardless, it's been spot on in the past.

I did better - I went straight to the source of the lie - MediaMatters.

You linked the article which just has the (claimed) AI-generated snippet. I was looking for the actual full show recording for that day, preferably somewhere hosted by Kirk or his team, so that I could compare it to the supposed fake. That's how you fact-check.
