• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Not if you don't write more clearly.
With all do respect, everyone knows what I meant, but moving on
To physics? It would seem so. They did not mention god in their scientific writings.
No, but they believed in the Christian God (or some version) and therefore must have believed that he could control physics
Science doesn't include supernatural effects. It is literally part of the definition of what science is -- the study of the natural world.
If God exists can he control physics
No, of course not.
Then why are you on Christian forums and not Reddit? Are you seeking to proselytize?
They should and do.
Then again
For a very long time. That's how we know what doesn't cause autism -- vaccines.
I meant people are not trusting doctors
It gets boring. There are other things to study, other aspects of the problem to examine.
So what if it’s boring, it’s their job. If they want people to be vaccinated, end the discussion with facts and evidence
There is no clear value in this study and I don't trust Robert Kennedy in the slightest, so I suspect a pre-rigged
Why don’t you trust kennedy? Who would you trust?

I have the liberty to do so.
But why here? What drew you here?
Researchers have the academic freedom to follow their own research programs, however this particular question is not the kind of cutting-edge research that requires federal government support, much less personal intervention from the Secretary of HHS.
Why? The people are growing more and more concerned. Why shouldn’t the government address our concerns? If they don’t, why have democracy?

OK, if you say so.
No, but they believed in the Christian God (or some version) and therefore must have believed that he could control physics
Would they? I don't know if they did or not. They certainly gave no indication that a devine force kept planets in orbit, etc. Their results were as we might say "god-free", just like the rest of science.
If God exists can he control physics
Perhaps. It's not something I ever thought much about.
Then why are you on Christian forums and not Reddit?
I followed a pseudoscience rabbit down this hole. It seemed OK and would permit me to join. Never even really looked at reddit. (Mostly it didn't behave in my browser.)
Are you seeking to proselytize?
I don't have any religion to proselytize, nor do I find it an honorable task.
Then again

I meant people are not trusting doctors
And that has exactly what to do with the well established non-connection between vaccines and autism?
So what if it’s boring, it’s their job. If they want people to be vaccinated, end the discussion with facts and evidence
Who's job? There is little scientifically to be gained by repeating for the 9th time the same study. This particular study seem particularly useless.
Why don’t you trust kennedy? Who would you trust?
He's spent his career telling lies about vaccines.

I’m not a Christian either.
Do you think that if I became a Christian, that my political and scientific views would change?
If you applied your faith to every aspect of your life, including politics, then more than likely yes. But I asked because of certain responses to my questions did not sound like Christian answers.

Galileo was a Catholic, Francis bacon was an Anglican, sir Isaac newton was an Arian, Luis Pasteur is in the picture

Why not?

Would my chances be more or less likely to say that vaccines cause autism if I saw that doctors don’t know what they’re talking about?

Galileo was a Catholic, Francis bacon was an Anglican, sir Isaac newton was an Arian, Luis Pasteur is in the picture
So?
Nothing about religion or its practice affected reality, so I had no reason to think god could change physics.
Would my chances be more or less likely to say that vaccines cause autism if I saw that doctors don’t know what they’re talking about?
If you're not a fetus, your risk of anything you encounter causing autism is exceedingly small.

If you tick that little circled down-symbol under our avatars, you’ll be able to see what each of us has chosen to represent ourselves to be here.
