  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have been having “road traveled” dreams over the last year. I have a Pentecostal Holiness lady friend named Louis who has invited me over to a church dinner Friday. Now this lady friend is married and more motherly than anything. In my dream she and I were talking in a nice resort type setting. I was well dressed and hair combed all neat. I was sitting on the bed trying to find things I wanted to show her. Especially topics on how well I was doing.

While trying to navigate my cell phone the late John MacArthur would automatically play on the radio. I tried to get it to quit and it wouldn’t. I can remember thinking… Bluetooth! Now John MacArthur was very fundamentalist in his teaching. When I awoke I realized that it is definitely the will of God for me to continue to walk the fundamentalist path. Even though nobody else is doing it. And leaving little for me to brag about in this day and time. But for me to continue to do well I must remain on the fundamentalist path.

If being 'fundamentalist' is following what the bible says, then yeah, why we get so much flak?, believing that the same Jesus scripture talks about can you meet in this life, this war on believing the bible as truth, you know who does that, the enemy of truth, who wants people confused and believing lies.
The same Jesus that the bible tells about, we can meet and receive blessings from Him.

There seems to be question about how certain people are "fundamentalist".

But I go with > the Bible means what it says . . . what God knows it means :)

And God does with us what He knows He means.

"'So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
. .It shall not return to Me void
. .But it shall accomplish what I please,
. .And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.'"
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (Isaiah 55:11)

I wouldn't trust my crazy dreams to be a guiding path or instruction from God, but I like your conclusion. If we define Christian fundalmentalism as believing the Bible's inerrancy, authority, and literal historicity, the numbers have severely declined. It's shameful, but a sign of the influential secular culture.

I think the best test of a Bible believing (fundamental) Christian anymore is whether they accept the Genesis 6 day / 24 hour creation event. If they do, then they probably respect the rest of the Bble, including not only its debated miracles, but also its moral standards. Unfortunately, a small minority of (fundamentalist) Christians or Catholics do anymore.

When we had a plating department in our facility I worked myself up to Lab Technician and worked under a chemist. This chemist was very smart and very good at math. When he laid out equations he did so in very neat handwriting and there would be much activity as he turned the results of an analysis into an addition. I would take his calculations and put them in the form of visual basic functions and sub procedures.

Of all the years I worked with this man I had one opportunity to witness to him. I made my presentation while he was analyzing adhesion under a microscope in which you could hear the sounds... Scratch, scratch, scratch! Scratch scratch, scratch! After my presentation he just continued to look under the microscope as if he ignored everything I said so I just continued in my work. Then... The scratch scratch, scratching stopped! And he speaks!

"You know what I think it is?" He says while continuing to look under the microscope... "I think it is arrogance!"

And then, without taking his eyes off the microscope, he continues his work... Scratch, scratch, scratch! Scratch scratch, scratch! I did not reply but went about my work. Inside I feared he was right. In many cases religion can inhabit too much personal ego. It is unfortunate for me that so many messages these days make so little connection to the heart.

If that is what you choose, then that is good enough. As long as we believe, God is fine. and try our best, obviously. It does not matter the rest. I am sure we can agree on many things.

When I have a dream I am sure to write it down before I forget. I find whenever someone shares what God has put on his heart it is usually good. And also original. It was like... Wow! I never thought of that before!
I am a person that gets dreams from God all the time, and where I see him and talk to him, and so far everything he has said has been correct.
