  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

And one more scandal developing

Federal Reserve governor Lisa Cook declared in financial forms that her Atlanta property would be used as a “vacation home” and not her primary residence, according to documents obtained by NBC News that appear to undercut allegations of mortgage fraud by the Trump administration.

Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte and President Donald Trump, who has moved to fire Cook, have accused the central bank board member of passing off the property as her main residence for financial gain. Cook has repeatedly denied the allegation, and administration officials have not provided definitive evidence supporting their claims.

A loan summary from the Bank-Fund Staff Federal Credit Union in May 2021 reads: “Property Use: Vacation Home.” Additionally, public records in Fulton County, Georgia, reviewed by NBC News show that no tax exemptions available for a primary residence were sought by Cook.

A second document obtained by NBC News, Cook’s “questionnaire for national security positions," which was submitted to the Biden administration in late 2021 and later the Senate, lists a question that reads: “Please list all of your interests in real property, including additional homes, vacation homes, rental properties, and interests in trusts that may hold property.”

Cook responded by writing “2nd home” followed by the address of the Atlanta property.

The FHFA and the White House did not respond to requests for comment Friday evening on the documents, which were first reported by Reuters.

The WH doesn't want to talk about it, now. But it's not going away.

This happens all the time. Bush was accused of the same in his presidency for tax purposes. And the phenomenon was covered in Billionaire Wilderness. It’s an informative read.

Evidence always comes to light, as it has this time. And Trump once again is caught lying about people he hates.
Where was your truth telling during the Russia hoax and lies. . .easily seen through by the nation and which eventually put him in the White House?

It wasn't a hoax and that was proven.

I do believe Trump is trying to abuse his power to attack those he sees as political enemies because they don't agree with him.

When the hacking of the DNC occurred and cyber security experts said that it was Russia, Trump and his campaign said it was a bogus story, a hoax. I believe that was on June 15-17, 2016.

The concern was that Russia was helping Trump to win so that Putin could get a foreign policy favorable to Russia in regard to UKRAINE.

I recall that Trump was reading hacked documents from the DNC during his campaign, and that Roger Stone, an associate of Trump, had indicated he had inside knowledge of what was going to be released through WikiLeaks.

Also, The Mueller report found that during the 2016 election, Paul Manafort was sending polling data to Konstantin Kilimnik, who was known to have connections with Russian intelligence. In addition, three independent reports found that Russian operatives were extensively using social media platforms, posing as Americans to amplify propaganda meant to damage Hillary.

Trump openly spoke of changing US foreign policy concerning Ukraine and Crimea during his campaign. He can even be seen asking Russia to find Hillary's emails. After becoming President, he was seen in Helsinki conveying that he trusted Putin over American intelligence agencies.

The Trump campaign met with the Russians in June of 2016. Two months later when Don junior was asked what he thought about the suggestion that Russia had hacked the DNC to help Trump win, Don jr. scoffed, declaring it to be fabricated lies by the Hillary campaign. One year later we all saw Don junior admit that the Trump campaign had met with Russians to discuss obtaining dirt on Hillary. The emails to Don Junior were even made publicly available, which state that Russia wanted Trump to win. The Trump campaign knew that Russia wanted to help them win, yet they claimed it was a hoax.

People still try to call it a hoax, even though numerous Trump underlings were convicted of felonies regarding collusion with Russia. His campaign manager, his national security advisor, among others committed felonies trying to cover up. Yes, Trump pardoned them, but they are still criminals and they still colluded with Russian agents. Would you like me to show you again?

Trump is not allied with Putin. Trump is a pure capitalist. Putin does not believe in capitalism. The stereotype of rich people is that they don't like to share their wealth. Therefore you can't have it both ways that your perception of Trump is power hungry & greedy then does not fit with Putin's ideology.

Trump is not allied with Putin.
He supported Putin against his own intelligence agencies. Whatever hold Putin has on him, it's pretty solid.
Trump is a pure capitalist.
No. Trump is a kleptocrat. He is a fan of using government to support his business ventures, often trying to take the property of others by abuse of eminent domain. That's not capitalism.

Putin does not believe in capitalism.
He does believe in kleptocracy, however; most of his allies are businessmen who through bribery or other devious methods, bought up state companies cheaply.

The stereotype of rich people is that they don't like to share their wealth.
Trump, for example, once forced a charity to pay him for using his golf course in a fund-raiser, and took donations meant for disabled veterans. On the other hand, some billionaires have been very generous in handing out their wealth to others.

Therefore you can't have it both ways that your perception of Trump is power hungry & greedy then does not fit with Putin's ideology.
You've simply confused Putin with Marxism. Putin is excessively greedy, having become enormously wealthy as a result of his dictatorship:

I stated factual events that belie Trump's claim that the story of Russian interference in the election to help him win, was a "bogus" story, a "hoax". I observed that Trump was open to changing American foreign policy in favor of Russia in regard to Ukraine. If there was some other mutual benefit to be obtained other than helping Trump win, I can't say.

I"m sure you'll understand if I am not yet able to see through the fog remaining from the Russia hoax of the left, whose outcry against such abuse is yet to materialize.

Which, of courses they do not do (Russia hoax) and, therefore, merit no criticism.

I don't see any fog. The abuse of power is pretty clear to me.

Why use the term "Left"? The three independent investigations that all concluded Russia interfered extensively were led by Republicans. The emails stating to the Trump campaign that Russia was trying help Trump win were disclosed by Don Junior.

All the Trump associates convicted or sentenced in the Mueller investigation

Flynn admitted lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russian agents.

Longtime Trump associate Roger Stone was sentenced to 4o months in prison for crimes that include obstruction of justice, lying to Congress and witness tampering.
Why it matters: Stone is the seventh person to be convicted and sentenced for crimes unearthed by former special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation. His case has been at the heart of ongoing tensions between President Trump and his Justice Department.

Trump pardoned them, of course. Trump has even asked the Justice Department to see if there's any way to reverse the convictions and pleas. Maybe so. But they are still criminals in Russian collusion.

I see no felonies by Trump. . .

The voters have given their verdict on the accusations against Trump.

A jury of his peers did, convicting him of dozens of counts of felony fraud. But Trump wasn't among the felons convicted in Mueller's Russia collusion case.

Not because he wasn't involved:

Why Mueller said he couldn’t indict Trump, explained

The Justice Department has a long-standing policy that prevents federal prosecutors from charging the president with a crime.

The voters have given their verdict on the accusations against Trump.

Twelve of them did. Trump is the first American president to be a convicted felon.
