  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Which are...? I mean, it's getting pretty obvious why this is spoken with such generalized terms to the point that they don't really mean anything.
Mainly democrats/liberals/leftists. Not all of them, but that demographic still makes up the majority. It's that specific enough or are individual names required?

That would be nice once you start going after "them" to punish "them".

Sounds like the typical "they're out to get you" hyperbolic folderal. In reality speakers like Ben Shapiro, Matt Walsh, Michael Knowles, Candace Owens, Benny Johnson, and Erika Kirk herself, among others, are going to double down and be more outspoken than ever.

I guess one could think that if one hasn't watched the reactions from many people on the right on social media following this shooting, which ranged from calls to round up and deport all transsexuals to start civil war against "the left".

Random internet kooks and trolls don't represent a realistic outcome. Neither does left-wing media fear mongering.

The people who wanted to silence him and probably all the people who celebrated his death as well
What people would those be?

What do you think should be done about them?

Are they as guilty as Charlie’s killer? Do they deserve death as well?

They are those who were against Charlie Kirk's message.
Who was that, specifically? Lots of people disagreed with his message but only one person ever shot the guy.

Those who wanted him silenced, and are happy that he himself was silenced.
Again, who specifically is that? What should be done about them?
It's kinda surprising something that obvious would require an explanation.
Vague threats against over half the country do need to be parsed out. I get she’s really upset right now but this divisive rhetoric isn’t helping. It makes her come across just as inflammatory as her husband was.

Yeah, I’d like to know more specifically who you guys think murdered Charlie besides his murderer.

And what do you think should be done about them?
Nothing. Radical liberalism should be done away with though. Which would be accomplished by it continuing to lose popularity.
Yeah, I’d like to know more specifically who you guys think murdered Charlie besides his murderer.
It's not a matter of who murdered Charlie Kirk, but rather what was behind it. And that what is radical liberalism.

Ok well then that’s pretty much the end of it there. Sorry Erika, you won’t be getting your wish.

Right so you do agree she’s blaming much more people than just her husband’s killer for his death.

Do you believe in collective responsibility? Is everyone on the left responsible for the actions of one deranged person? What about everyone on the right? I’m sure you apply this equally across the board.

Do you believe words equal violence?

How big of a majority? 90%? 80%? I mean you are VERY broad brush painting still

I'm pretty sure that if I gave a percent number that would just lead to another clarification challenge and probably a proof challenge and so on and on and on.

Here's what AI says FWIW:

Polling data specifically measuring the percentage of Democrats who disapprove of Charlie Kirk is not publicly available. While there are no direct approval or disapproval numbers, surveys following Kirk's death indicate very low Democratic support for his views.

Yeah, because you're using a generalised and broad brush to demonize a large group, the vast majority of whom are not guilty of what happened or celebrating it. So yeah, I'd like you to be quite precise in whom you're accusing.
Let's not forget that if we go back this discussion to see what was talked about, it was people who were responsible for the assassination/silencing him (pretty much the same accusation at this point)/celebrating his death.

It's quite easy to make broad defamatory claims about a large group of people because by being so broad in your brushing, you don't need to point a finger at anyone, because then you'd have to concretely defend your accusation. Which according to you are:
Mainly democrats/liberals/leftists.
So yeah, considering the implications of that accusation, you're using a really broad brush to try and demonize people with.

... Which has nothing to do with what the accusation here is. Well duh, his views on women, race, guns among other things probably aren't broadly supported among Democrats.

What does that have to do with people celebrating his death or silencing him or being responsible for his death? This is what you accused them of, if you're able to follow the conversation to what the starting point of this discussion was.

Should any blame be placed upon whoever influenced Tyler Robinson into hating Charlie Kirk while deciding Kirk needs to be assassinated?
According to a family member, in the days leading up to the shooting, Tyler Robinson mentioned that Charlie Kirk "was full of hate and spreading hate." Do you think that Kirk's own words may have had an influence on Robinson and his decision to assassinate him?

An individual killed Charlie Kirk. His name is Tyler Robinson, and investigators believe he alone is the one responsible for Kirk's death. There is no "they."
And of course you would say the very same thing about James Fields, right?
