CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The cartels are drug dealers and they care who lives or dies? Are competing cartels just otherwise business competitors like Walmart and Target? I have deep concerns about what was done to this drug vessel. I also have deep concerns about drug cartels gaining a stronger foothold in the US. We have enough crime the way it is ( I know it’s always perpetually decreasing somehow).
Cartels seem to basically run different areas of Mexico where crime is decreasing also
As crime “decreases”, it sure is a bloody progression in Mexico and it sure ain’t pretty in the US either.

That’s the thing, it doesn’t matter what the justification is. The president doesn’t have any one he needs to justify his actions to.

The US Is not at war with Tren de Aragua. There is no "self-defense" argument to be made (40' boat with 11 people is a threat to the U.S.? Nor is Tren de Aragua associated with terrorists groups that attacked the U.S. on and after 9/11 ( 2001 Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF).
As of today, the admininstration has yet to offer a viable legal justification.

...there would be no "case" in this administration. And yes, I have to accept there will be no constraints on Trump for the next year at least. IMO, Trump is intentionally breaking norms to see what he can get away with.
Will the American people accept using the military to kill any suspected drug trafficker without any form of due process?
If yes, who is next? Illegal immigrants crossing the Rio Grande? Cartels inside other countries?
