  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You seem confused.
Actually no.
If I had been assaulted by an illegal; I would rather see him removed from the country, than to have to pay for his incarceration.
So if a family member is assaulted you would not seek justice. You would just want the guy deported. You cannot possibly be any clearer. You literally say:
Why waste the court's time, and my tax dollars going through that process;
What an attitude...

You don't seem to understand how the justice system works. I don't get to press charges on behalf of a victim.

Ether the victim or the DA presses charges.

Are you talking about revenge? We are not to take the law into our own hands.

In sanctuary cities the rogue judges are releasing these criminals right back out onto the streets, with no cash bail, to create victims again and again; or they are sneaking them out the back door; so that ICE can't deport them. Is that the justice you are talking about?

You seem confused. That's the point that you made.

My point is that I would not want my wife to be victimized twice if it can be avoided.

I won't speak for her; as you seem to have spoken for me. That wouldn't be just; and I like justice.

If I had been assaulted by an illegal; I would rather see him removed from the country, than to have to pay for his incarceration.

I would rather see him removed, rather than take a chance that he would assault some poor American pot head who was locked up with him.

I would rather see him removed rather than have him assault a prison guard, who's wife depends on him coming home after work.

I value my safety and prosperity, and the safety and prosperity of my fellow Americans, over revenge.
What is stopping them from coming back? Possibly much earlier than if they first spent time in prison?

Border crossings are at an all time low, thanks lo the current administration.

The current administration will only be in power for slightly more than 3 years, so how does this answer my question? They might still be back considerably before they would have finished any prison time. My guess is the number of escapees from prison is still smaller than the number of border crossings.

The voters set a mandate to get these criminals out of our country; and now we need prison space to house the scofflaws that are attacking Federal agents for upholding the law..

But how does deportation vs prison+deportation lessen the risk for US citizens being victimized? I guess the US even have prisoner exchange agreements with many countries, so they could be in prison in the country they are a citizen in.

Do the voters want deportees sent to countries half way around the world from their country of origin?

It leaves more prison space to hold more criminal aliens, while the Feds wait for returning jets to fly them out of here.

The Feds can't build prisons fast enough to hold them all. Whatever happened to all of those FEMA concentration camps?

This is a very strange conversation. So are you ok, with them coming back earlier than they would have been released from prison? Are people waiting to be deported really competing with those criminally convicted for space in prisons?

Garcia could have returned to his home country; but he fought tooth and nail to get shipped off to Swaziland, an impoverished, disease infested, absolute Monarchy, with the lowest life expectancy in the world.

I haven's seen a poll on how the voters feel about accommodating his wishes; but I don't mind that we paid a little extra air fare for this guy.

So why not prison+deportation as most countries do while also sending foreign nationals to the country they are citizens of? This would only be for the ones that are actually criminally charged, the others would just be deported I guess. ICE (and CBP?) have their own detention centers do they not?

They're full, even though we are flying them out as fast as we can. That is why we are building prisons all over the country, Louisiana Lockup, Alligator Alcatraz, Cornhusker Clink, Speedway Slammer, and at least one more that I don't remember the name.

You covered what? You said that you would rather have people deported than punished for their crimes (in the scenario you know they are criminals) in post #100, and alluded to that it would hinder them from doing something criminal to US citizens again. If you do that, they might come back earlier and do more crimes than if they first are put in prison before they are deported. So you accept a higher risk for further crimes, when you just deport them. Aren't those names for detention centers, are they prisons?

CBP Releases May 2025 Monthly Update

Release Date

Tue, 06/17/2025

In May 2025, the U.S. Border Patrol released 0 illegal aliens into our country—a staggering drop from more than 62,000 that USBP was forced to release along the southwest border in May 2024.

In May 2025, the Border Patrol encountered 8,725 illegal aliens crossing the southwest border between ports of entry. This was a 93% decrease from May 2024 when USBP encountered 117,905 aliens. Encounter numbers continue to hold at historic lows, reflecting a border that is more secure, more controlled, and hitting unprecedented levels of operational success.

CBP’s total number of encounters nationwide, including at ports of entry, averaged approximately 952 per day in May 2025—a 2% decrease from April 2025. This was the second lowest average daily number of CBP encounters in history. Along the southwest border in May 2025, CBP’s total number of encounters decreased 93% from May 2024.

If the Democrats are running the Federal government; what would keep them from issuing a pardon with the auto pen?

If they get back in power; they just might fly him back and put him up in a hotel; and have the American people gift him a undeserved SS check every month.

The criminals were getting it better than our veterans.

We can't let them back in power.

This is still higher than the numbers who escape from prisons. Basically, all that goes missing from prison do so when on leave. Can those who are to be deported even go on leave? Also these are not the numbers of those who successfully enter the US illegally.
