CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It seems that there may be a difference between the guidance you offer to others and the actions you take yourself.

Clinton got more votes than Donald. Harris got almost as many. Misogyny is a thing in America - more than a couple of posters here would like to take the vote away from women altogether.

That seems like a good bet. Though, I have to ask, if you don't believe those who stormed the Capitol to stop (or delay) certification of the election were intending to commit a crime, what do you think their intent was?
And would that include those who were shouting "Hang Pence!"?

Look around at social media lately? It's just a sign of the times. Personal branding, self-promotion, and "business" are almost inseperable in some peoples eyes. This isn't just a MAGA thing, much of American culture has become blind to this dynamic.

I'm talking about the White House, the People's House. Yes, call me old fashioned, but Jimmy Carter did not have a peanut concession in the White House. In fact, he put his peanut farm in a blind trust before taking residence. Trump has not put his business in a blind trust, and now he's apparently opened a concession stand in the White House to personally profit from his 'public service'.
