Well actually, I'd been expecting Biden to announce his retirement after midterms, just because my understanding has been that he was planning only one term. If he'd done that and the Dems had gone thru a full primary, I think a different candidate would have been selected.

Harris would have made a fine president, and certainly better than the disaster we have now, but she's not a great campaigner.
