As you must except that the moon gives off her own light as Jesus said
That has already been answered and yet again you deflect. The Bible explicitly tells us that the sun rises and goes down. That's very precise language to describe what happens in the morning and evening. You say it circles in and out of sight. That's not what Scripture tells us. You are in error.

I do all the time.
No you don't. You stay inside your comfort bubble. And if the answer isn't there you don't go any further. Investigation means you explore all options, not give up when you can't find the answer from your flattie buddies.

And that's exactly what it does.
But that's not what you're saying. You say it circles in and out of sight (vanishing point). The Bible says nothing about vanishing point. It says the sun rises and goes down - nothing about a vanishing point. You are in error. You contradict Scripture.

So - The Bible says nothing about the earth rotating the sun either.

That's not an answer, it's just another deflection. Nobody claimed it does. Why didn't God say the sun circles out of sight and back into sight? Why did He tell us that it rises and goes down? The two descriptions are not the same and contradict each other. You say vanishing point, God says rise and go down. Do you disagree with God?

Because it's not a science textbook.

Ever heard that before?

Because that's what the sun does.
No, that's not what you say. You say it circles in and out of sight above us. God says it rises and goes down. Your description differs from what God has told us in Scripture. He never says it circles in and out of a vanishing point -never! You spend so much time accusing the rest of us of not taking Scripture for what it says. Yet here you are doing the exact same thing. You are contradicting the very words of Scripture. You are in error.

So what your saying is that the earth orbits the the sun ?
Tell me something, if the sun doesn't circle the heavens, how come the sun stopped for Joshua ?

Stop deflecting. This has been answered over and over and over again. But you have now changed the words of Scripture by saying the sun circles above us in and out of sight (vanishing point).
the sun just keeps circling the earth above & as it travels so far out of our line of sight we receive darkness.
God says otherwise. He says the sun rises and goes down. You have changed what God has said. This is what you accuse us of all the time. Now you've done it. You are in error.

And deflecting from your error won't do you any good. That's two traps of your own making you've fallen into.

It might not literally have been the sun which stopped. From our perspective, the sun appears to move, journeying from one side if the sky to the other. But the sun doesn't actually move; the earth rotates on its axis.
But it doesn't matter. The whole point is that the Israelites needed more time to defeat their enemies; more hours of daylight. Because their perception was that it was the sun that was moving and would soon go down, they prayed that it would stop. God could easily have said, "well actually, I'm going to make the earth stop, since it's that which is rotating". He didn't because the technical details weren't important. They needed more hours of sunlight; they were given more hours of sunlight.
They saw a 24 hour sun!

Like I said before, you're ignoring the fact that the Israelites prayed, asked God for a miracle, got a miracle, defeated their enemies and were encouraged that God was on their side, looking out for them, and are focusing only on a technical detail.
The miracle was still a miracle - God suspended the laws of nature to allow the Israelites to defeat their enemies.

And the earth takes a year to orbit the sun.
It takes 24 hours to rotate on its axis.

Scripture specifically states that sun stopped. Are you disagreeing with God ?
Scripture specifically states the sun rises and goes down. You say this:
the sun just keeps circling the earth above & as it travels so far out of our line of sight we receive darkness.
Are you disagreeing with God?

You see, we globe earthers have no problem with understanding that God often uses phenomenological language to describe His creation. We don't adhere to a hyper literal reading of Scripture.

You however do, at least when it suits you. We are not being hypocritical when we say that when Scripture says the sun stopped, that this is how it looked to the people witnessing it, not that it necessarily literally stopped.

You however are being hypocritical when you insist on a hyper literal interpretation and that the sun did actually stop, but then become very loose in your interpretation of the sun rising and going down by saying it circles above and that its distance from us causes darkness. God says its going down causes darkness, not its distance from us.

Don't be silly.

First of all, I said "from their perspective".
Did Joshua blast off into space to look at the sun and observe whether or not it was moving? No. It looked as though the sun was moving - just as you have said, "the sun doesn't LOOK 93,000,000 miles away", or the moon LOOKS quite close".
Secondly, it was Joshua, or someone else, who wrote those words. God didn't write them and say "then I stopped the sun. Please note, future generations, it was definitely the sun which I stopped. This means it had to be moving; this means that anyone who tells you that the earth moves, is wrong." If God himself had written that and been that specific then all Christians would say that there is Biblical evidence that it is the sun which moves.
Scripture does not say that; God didn't write that.
Thirdly, you have ignore the rest of my post in which I said that they got the miracle they wanted - more hours of daylight to be able to defeat their enemies.
Fourthly, your literal interpretation and application has led you to brand thousands of scientists as "liars".

Well who wrote these words that @Phil G posted;

“And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.” Genesis 15:17 KJV

Please note, future generations, it was definitely the sun which I stopped. This means it had to be moving; this means that anyone who tells you that the earth moves, is wrong." If God himself had written that and been that specific then all Christians would say that there is Biblical evidence that it is the sun which moves.

I thought all scripture was inspired by God.

But you are contradicting those very words by implying that they really meant “when the sun circled further away and it was dark”

As I’ve said it is hypocritical to insist on a hyper literal meaning for the sun stopping and then insist that it always circles above and that darkness is caused by the sun being further away.

And instead of facing your own inconsistencies in your approach to Scripture, you’re trying to turn questions you should be answering back on others. It doesn’t work. It only exposes your unwillingness to face reality.

“when the sun circled further away and it was dark”

When the sun traveled further away.

As I’ve said it is hypocritical to insist on a hyper literal meaning for the sun stopping and then insist that it always circles above and that darkness is caused by the sun being further away.

The sun travels from east to west during the day & this is what Scripture states;

King James Bible
And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

The sun & the moon stopped travelling in the sky, this means that sun stopped circuiting the sky.

You can't tell me any different without doubting Scripture.

It only exposes your unwillingness to face reality.

No, it is your unwillingness to face the truth.

During the Middle Ages people believed the Earth was flat.

When Columbus lived, people thought that the Earth was flat. We were taught this in school and as I know now, we were also taught a bunch of lies.
Aristotle provided observational evidence for a spherical Earth around 330 BC.

But there have been people didn’t know that throughout history because of poor education.
