You know, Home depot is where the illegals wait for jobs, that is why they were there.
This can also lead to finding "other" things..that are worse also.
Have you ever been to a Home Depot where immigrants gather hoping for someone to hire them for a project? They're not intimidating, nor do they look threatening. There's no need for ICE to roll up in armored vehicles wearing combat gear to question or arrest a few of the immigrants that might be in the country illegally; even those who may have a criminal record.

I'm not sure what's unclear about someone being disappeared off the streets and held incommunicado by ICE. It's happening all over.

What makes you think the family was not involved? They don't let you out of detention if your family asks nicely. We still don't know why he was released at all?

And the lack of translation may have delayed any hypothetical notice to his family:

They badly misunderstood him, identifying his sponsor as a daughter named Virginia Washington, but he does not have a daughter, according to a legal complaint filed on his behalf. His sponsor is his sister, who lives in Virginia.
See even you say "may have" "any hypothetical". What his family could not understand him either.?

We've seen dozens, maybe hundreds of these stories of people getting taken by ICE, and their family doesn't know where they are, or how to contact them.

I have. What has that to do with anything.
They're not intimidating, nor do they look threatening.
Not until they get all on warlike ideology when Ice comes. They are here illegally.

No there should be no need. These people have been offered to voluntarily deport, with money as well as transport paid. Pretty nice for having committed a crime to enter the country, and work illegally while in the country. So yes you are correct there really is no need that Ice should have to roll up, but they are forced by these people..

Well there are thousands of children missing. What are their stories. Do their families know where they are? Sad. If someone chooses to remain here illegally, their family should know this might happen. They refuse the offer to self deport.

Even IF all the stories are true, its irrelevant. There is no requirement that rhey have to know.

As I have said, if you approve of certain aspects of Immigration law then you need to pressure your Congrssmen to change the laws.

Complaining about ICE following the law is just whining.

THIS case is nothing more than a difficulty in resources. Im sure it wasnt easy to find a Mongolian sign interpreter. They tried to use on line interpretations and it didnt work properly. But they couldn't know that immediately.

It ap I ears this guy was an illegal who didnt self deport and had not reciev3d anything to say he could stay.

Trump’s top federal prosecutor in L.A. struggles to secure indictments in protest cases

In total, he has secured only seven indictments, which usually need to be obtained no later than 21 days after the filing of a criminal complaint. Three other cases have been resolved via plea deal, records show.

Dropped cases against LA protesters reveal false claims from federal agents

US immigration officers made false and misleading statements in their reports about several Los Angeles protesters they arrested during the massive demonstrations that rocked the city in June, according to federal law enforcement files obtained by the Guardian.

The officers’ testimony was cited in at least five cases filed by the US Department of Justice amid the unrest. The justice department has charged at least 26 people with “assaulting” and “impeding” federal officers and other crimes during the protests over immigration raids. Prosecutors, however, have since been forced to dismiss at least eight of those felonies, many of them which relied on officers’ inaccurate reports, court records show.

The justice department has also dismissed at least three felony assault cases it brought against Angelenos accused of interfering with arrests during recent immigration raids, the documents show.

Some of these have been recharged on lower charges. At least they did this, it was not done for 9/11 victims.

If juries convicted them on the more serious charges, I don't see that the prosecution made the wrong call.
Well I disagree. Some were just walking around. They went after them anyway.

As I said to another poster on another thread using the same diversion: Who are these people? Name ONE, with documentation.

Essayli upended U.S. attorney’s office by pushing Trump agenda. Will he stay on top?

  • Four months into his tenure, interim U.S. Atty. Bill Essayli is plagued by criticism that he is acting in a hyper-partisan manner to support President Trump’s agenda.
Essayli — who declined to be interviewed — was never nominated by Trump, but rather appointed by U.S. Atty. Gen. Pam Bondi. That has cast doubt about his future in the office, as Bondi’s appointment is limited to 120 days by federal statute and will expire on Wednesday.

The White House moved Tuesday to keep interim U.S. Atty. Bill Essayli in power as Los Angeles’ top federal prosecutor, marking the Trump administration’s latest maneuver to defy norms and keep controversial appointees in positions across the country.

Essayli — a former Riverside County assemblyman, staunch conservative and Trump ally — will be named acting U.S. attorney for the Central District of California, according to Matthew Nies, a spokesman for the U.S. Department of Justice. He will be granted the acting title at 5:01 p.m., Nies said.

The maneuver — which echoes steps the Trump administration took to keep its chosen prosecutors in power in New York, New Jersey and Nevada in recent weeks — allows Essayli to stay in office while sidestepping normal confirmation processes in the U.S. Senate.

[The terms of these acting positions expire in 210 days.]

Pentagon pulling 2,000 National Guard deployed to LA amid ICE protests

“Thanks to our troops who stepped up to answer the call, the lawlessness in Los Angeles is subsiding."

More than 1,000 National Guard troops leaving L.A. Newsom says Trump’s ‘political theater backfired’

The departure of about 1,350 members of the National Guard, ordered by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, represents just the latest rollback of troops from L.A. this month since more than 5,000 National Guard members and Marines were deployed to the city in June.

Sean Parnell, chief spokesman for the Pentagon, said that approximately 250 California Guard members would remain in L.A. to protect federal agents and buildings.

“Another win for Los Angeles,” Bass said on X on Wednesday night. “We will continue this pressure until ALL troops are out of L.A.”

[Newsom:] “President Trump is realizing that his political theater backfired. This militarization was always unnecessary and deeply unpopular,” the statement said. “The President must do the right thing to end this illegal militarization now because the economic and societal impacts are dire. The women and men of our military deserve more than to be used as props in the federal government’s propaganda machine.”

Newsome is wrong. Trump's "political theater" is working. The enforcement arm of a police state must be hated and feared f it is to be effective.

I never said it was the best thing. In fact in one of my post regarding immigration i said what I would do which was different. However there is a LARGE difference between doing something wrong and doing something different.

I think it would be best put people on a list of those picked up and where they are so if a family member called they could find out where they are.

Yes that would be better to me. But you also have to ask what's going on. Can they give out the information? Are the systems so antiquated that it takes time to get the person into the systems. Is the person not in the system yet because they are still trying to verify their identity.

I dont know. So we aren't in disagreement here as far as what we think would be better. But just because something g could be better doesn't mean its wrong right now.

Yeah, it appears Los Angeles has settled down and they are no longer needed. Until next time.
