I don't doubt there are hungry people there, but its not because Israel is keeping the food out.

So you admit people are starving. Do you think Israel has the ability to feed these people?

Thank you, Philo! I know, and I thank you for saying it out loud. How is it that a theological (eschatological) position can justify a horrendous reality? Well, to be fair, maybe good souls are changing their mind at this very moment. I wish they would respond to this thread. We need to hear about their transformation. Everybody needs to say this is not good.

As it happens to go with Dispensational theology, if one thinks that the political entity of the nation of Israel is a modern prophetic sign-post and is, in essence, the "apple of God's Eye," and that most of biblical eschatology is encapsulated theologically in a futuristic bubble, fated to suddenly pop open at just the right time (~~1948), then anything that Israel does will be seen as the outcome of the process of fulfilling prophetic expectations on the world stage.

I dont think people are actually starving. In Gaza. I suspect people are hungry. Because most war zones will cause that to occur.

Not sure what you are asking in reference to Israel. No i dont believe Israel by itself has the ability to feed everyone. I think aid is needed from other places.

The UN is refusing to cooperate with Israel to get the food in. They are also not willing to go in with their own forces to secure the distribution.

Hamas and their gangs are absolutely taking the food away from the people and selling it.

Have you seen any of the images coming out of Gaza lately? I don't know how anyone could possibly look at these photos and say that they don't think people are actually starving.

There's every reason to both believe and be appalled. Israel can remedy this. The US can demand that Netanyahu relent and allow a free flow of aid (properly checked by authorities), and Trump should. Is Israel sending any aid in today? Time is of the essence.

I think all political powers observing this situation (other than those who are themselves victims of starvation in Gaza) are playing International Game Theory and calculating how they can 'benefit' from it with utmost political utility.

It's a sad, evil day. Like so many.

P.S. ......... this is where Israel needs to question some things about "how" they interpret their Messianic traditions. For those of us who are Christian, we should already know where the answer lies.

It's heartbreaking and unnecessary. Honestly, I don't know anything about their current Messianic ideas, except they're waiting, I guess.

I do wonder what Israelis think about this. Like us, I imagine many of them are horrified. Apparently, a majority of Israelis want Netanyahu out of politics.

Fake photos. You remember the one that The Times put out rhat turned out to be of a child (it actually might be the top or bottom one) with a disease unrelated to the war. The Times had to retract and admit it.

It also doesn't help that radical Muslims, like those of Hamas, most likely think that anyone (or any Palestinian in Gaza) who identifies with Islam should be available to be a martyr (within the realm of Holy War) ........................... for the cause of Allah.

In other words, Hamas is willing to sacrifice their own people, thinking that it gives impetus to their specifically flavored religious and political cause. As we might imagine, that further complicates the expected ongoing reactions of an already historically beleaguered people of Israel.

Yeah, they're horrible. I was encouraged to see Arab states calling on Hamas to disarm and relinquish power.

Fake photos.
Really. Even Trump expressed concern at what he's seen, saying - and I quote - "You can't fake that." Do you have any evidence that these photos have been faked? I didn't post everything that I found, just a few select images from the first page of results.
You remember the one that The Times put out rhat turned out to be of a child (it actually might be the top or bottom one) with a disease unrelated to the war. The Times had to retract and admit it.
Source?

Is he? Do you have x-ray vision, so as to see under his clothes, as well as a way to analyze a man's condition simply by viewing a photograph? He's able to lift a severely underweight person, yes, but that does not indicate that he is "very strong and healthy".
No, I dont believe the propaganda.
...he says, as he repeats literal propaganda about Hamas stealing aid. The IDF itself has said that they have no evidence that Hamas was routinely stealing aid. No, you simply choose to ignore or dismiss things that are inconvenient to your worldview.

I have no doubt that Hamas has stolen aid supplies on occasion, either to feed its fighters or to extort Palestinian civilians (or both). But no evidence of them doing this on a regular basis has been presented, and it is obvious that the amount of aid being allowed into Gaza is drastically insufficient for the population.

Trump responded just like you did. Emotionally. Which is understandable. He's can be a knee jerk guy. When someone posts a photo like that our initial response is horror. As it should be. But we should take a step back and start asking questions.

Where did those photos actually come from?
Who posted them?
Where did they get them?

Then we start looking at surroundings. Why is the guy who holding the emaciated person perfectly healthy?
Why is the mother and the baby in the background healthy looking while the one child looks bad?

No, these photos are Hamas and other Palestinian supporters propaganda engendered to create exactly what its creating. And people are reacting to it exactly how they hope.

Look at his face and arms. If he was alone he'd look like any other person and you wouldnt think twice.
he says, as he repeats literal propaganda about Hamas stealing aid. The IDF itself has said that they have no evidence that Hamas was routinely stealing aid. No, you simply choose to ignore or dismiss things that are inconvenient to your worldview.

They don't take aid from the IDF because the IDF protects the aid they are giving out. Israel had sent tons of aid and food into Gaza.

Hamas has shot people trying get aid.

There are videos of Hamas taking over UN trucks. So the UN is failing here. Israel is doing it.

Worldview goes both ways. And believing Hamas propaganda is another world view. Hamas is a terrorist organization and if anyone believes a thing coming from them or pro-Palestinian organizations then they will be sacked into trusting violent terrorists.

I do believe there is hunger in Palestine. Its a war zone. There will be. But Israel has been getting aid in. The US has helped because they are willing to work with IDF. The UN and other NGOs are not because they are against Israel and unwilling to work with them. They are teying to do it their own way and are not getting the aid through. Their aid is sitting on the ground.

Don't trust Hamas propaganda.

Do you have any information to back this up, or are you just going with your "gut"?
Look at his face and arms. If he was alone he'd look like any other person and you wouldnt think twice.
You can see his arms? And his face, for that matter? He's looking down, which can hide things like hollowed cheeks. Additionally, the face is one of the last parts of the body to display significant wasting - the body prioritizes the brain, and by extension, the head.
They don't take aid from the IDF because the IDF protects the aid they are giving out. Israel had sent tons of aid and food into Gaza.
The IDF and other agencies have said that there is no evidence that Hamas has been regularly stealing aid from anyone - not just the IDF.
There are videos of Hamas taking over UN trucks. So the UN is failing here. Israel is doing it.
There are videos of mobs of people looting UN trucks. I'm not sure how you could possibly know that they are Hamas. Given the food shortages, people are desperate, which leads to looting.
I do believe there is hunger in Palestine. Its a war zone. There will be. But Israel has been getting aid in.
Not nearly enough.
The UN and other NGOs are not because they are against Israel and unwilling to work with them.
Given the requirements that Israel has put on aid distribution, I can understand why organizations dedicated to humanitarian relief don't want to work with them.

Don't trust any propaganda. Discern the facts, and make your own decisions.

From Vatican News' Deputy Editorial Director, Massimiliano Menichetti:

How much longer must we wait? What more must we witness before we stop the barbarity of war... an appeal recently relaunched by Pope Leo XIV? A cry is raised each day from Gaza.

In a world that is informed and connected, where every event is documented and broadcast in images and sound, people are dying of deprivation. Technology records suffering but does not cure it. Faced with such inhumanity, indifference is not an option. We cannot become numb or turn away after seeing such suffering.

Political leaders and governments must not remain silent.

What is happening in Gaza is insane, barbaric, genocidal. Why isn't everyone condemning this?
They are. The real question is why haven't the hostages Hama abducted been released yet and why isn't the outcry huge about that precipitating factor?

Who is? There are posters here who think it's all propaganda.

There is outcry about Hamas. Arab nations are calling on Hamas to disarm and relinquish power (see post #31). That is unheard of, so yes, they absolutely should release the remaining hostages. I think many want to the whole thing to be resolved as quickly as possible. Both Netanyahu and Hamas need to come to terms.

Exactly. You are trusting Hamas and pro-palistinian propaganda. You've made up your mind. So have I.

Where did the photo come from?
Who took it?
When was it taken?
How do you know its Gaza?

We've already seen what AI or photo manipulation can do. There have been many times the photos have been discovered to be fake.

NYT used a photo of a child purported to be starving that was proven to be false reporting.

The IDF and other agencies have said that there is no evidence that Hamas has been regularly stealing aid from anyone - not just the IDF.
Thats incorrect. IDF just released video of Hamas stealing aid. The US said Hamas wasn't taking US aid.

Of course Hamas is stealing aid. They are terrorists sowing seeds of chaos. They want this war to end, so they are going to do whatever they can to create pressure from the west to stop it. Thus is what they do. Propaganda, lie, cheat, steal and create chaos.

And far too many people are falling for it because they don't like Israel.
