  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's crazy to me that middle class citizens of Texas will vote foe this guy.

Say what you want but conservative leaders I. The US really seem to be acting like monarchs and seem to have about that level of culpability for their misdeeds.

Life would be easy as a conservative politicians I think.

CNBC per atrupar

PULTE: Public officials shouldn't be exempt from scrutiny

SORKIN: Speaking of that, Ken Paxton has at least 3 examples of alleged mortgage fraud. Are you looking at that?

PULTE: Unless it's been made public, I'm not going to comment on any specific situation

SORKIN: Why wouldn't you make it public? You made these others public.

Life as a conservative politician isn't inherently easy. Life as a conservative politician in a conservative state, though, is rather easy--as is life as a liberal politician in a liberal state.

That said, I am not so sure Praxton will be able to win. First he has to win the primary, which looks like it could go either way, and then there's the general election.

Texas is normally a state that Republicans can be quite confident they'll win statewide. However, while there's no denying Texas is strongly Republican--Trump won it by nearly 14% in 2024--it isn't quite as strongly Republican as one might think. There were 19 states that Trump won by a larger margin in 2024 than in Texas.

We should remember that Alabama, which is considerably more conservative than Texas (Trump won it by 30% in 2024, in comparison to the 16% he won Texas), still narrowly elected a Democratic Senator (Doug Jones) in its 2017 special election. Granted, that required a Republican candidate (Roy Moore) with an enormous amount of baggage, and Jones got absolutely clobbered in his re-election in 2020 when the Republicans put up a better candidate. Still, if that can happen in Alabama, it could happen in Texas if the Republican candidate is weak enough, which could be the case for Paxton.

I guess we'll first have to see if he wins the primary, which is still half a year away.

Forget about running for Senator, Ken Paxton's looking more modern day presidential all the time!

JUST IN: Ken Paxton’s Wife Announces Divorce in Shock Statement — Citing ‘Recent Discoveries’

Texas Sen. John Cornyn’s campaign is demanding documents from the state’s Trump-backed attorney general that will prove if he used taxpayer money to fund travel to see his reported mistress.

“These records are not only subject to public information law, but relevant to public interest as made clear in a Sept. 12, 2025, Daily Mail article showing Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has been traveling “across the country and even overseas” to meet a woman named Tracy Duhon with whom he was having an affair,” the filing states.

The campaign alleged the trips were “essential to keeping the entanglement secret” from Paxton’s wife, which would make them personal in nature. “If Paxton has used official resources to pay for any of these trips, or if the getaways conflicted with responsibilities to the state of Texas, Texans deserve to know,” it continued.

Using Texan's tax money to cover up adultry. That should play well!
