Why do they need to make a special fuss over "pride"?

I mean, I get it with gay people who were told forever that they are worthless and outcasts. But the south? There must be a lot of internalized shame they are fighting.

they're just really prideful about being from the South and losing a war or something.
"Born Southern by the grace of God" is another slogan..
personally I think the southeast is a dumpsterfire (and I live there now) but.. some people really like it.
I'd rather live somewhere without Hurricanes and muggy heat.

Listened to some of the episode, pack a lunch it’s over 4 hours, it’s a more nuanced less vitriolic take than I was expecting covering hogan in depth and detail.
