That's not what he said. He said "we didn't go there", and from the context it's obvious (to all but conspiracy theorists) that he meant "we didn't go back there.". In other words, we haven't been back, or returned. He also said if we want to know for the future we have to look at why it stopped in the past.

When you first produced this clip, a few months ago, I pointed out to you that the very next clip - on my phone anyway - showed an interview with Buzz which began with the words "I'm Buzz Aldrin and I was a pilot on Apollo 11." There are several such clips on YouTube - although the conspiracy theorists clips get more publicity.

It's like when David Jenkins, Bishop of Durham, said years ago, "the resurrection is MORE than just a conjuring trick with bones". (I read his full sermon in the Church of England newspaper.)
Headline the next day, "Bishop says resurrection is a conjuring trick with bones". This lead to letters, articles and cartoons about doubting bishops, how do they get to stay in the job, etc ?
David Jenkins wasn't perfect and he probably said a lot of things I disagreed with. "The resurrection didn't happen", was not one of them, but hey, it sold newspapers.

It doesn't, and won't, matter.
We are told to be salt and light to the world. Light penetrates the darkness, and this world is dark; salt gives flavour, is a preservative and if it gets into wounds, stings like mad. We are called to bring Jesus' light into the world around us, to preserve the Gospel, preventing it from being distorted or compromised and maybe we are also meant to occasionally irritate people - sticking form to the truth of the Gospel.
We were given the Great Commission to go and make disciples of every nation; teaching, healing and baptising.
We are to be witnesses for Jesus, as the 12 were sent to witness to him.
Paul tells us that we are ambassadors for Christ - i.e. ambassadors for the king. We are to tell people about him, that he is coming back one day and to further the kingdom of God.

None of this has anything at all to do with the shape of the earth - zero, zilch, nada.
No one at all in the NT said that the earth was a certain shape and it was important that everyone believe it. They were all focussed on Jesus.
No one has said anything about what the new earth will be like - it might be the same planet, but new in the sense that all corruption and evil will have gone.
Even if the new earth were to be a bright pink dodecahedron, who cares?
