They have been gathered to dismantle our democracy.
This is the kind of crazy talk that prompts wing nuts to attempt assassinations. You seriously need to chill out.

Many, many are here legally and were born here.

I even know some Hispanics who can only speak English, despite their parent being fluent.

The point being…..?
I think her point is that many hispanics here benefited directly or indirectly from Reagan's program in the 80s of allowing hispanics who had come over here ilegally, but met certain other requirements to remain here when HE tightened the border. I was born in 91, so of course do not remember that as it happened in the 80s, but I think that is her point that a huge number of them would not be here legally and would not have been born here but for Reagan's program in the 80s and yet now we ar kicking out the same "type" of people and they support it.

Condoning immorality but calling truth tellers wing nuts?
We believe in fair voting and the Constitution.
I am 100% opposed to political assassination from all sides-- but I believe that assassins are motivated by the actions of the people they have targeted, not because people exercise their first amendment rights.

Immigrants File Class-Action Lawsuit to Stop ICE Courthouse Arrests

A coalition of legal groups representing immigrants filed a class-action lawsuit against the Trump administration on Wednesday, arguing that the federal government’s campaign to arrest people at immigration courthouses so that they can be swiftly deported is unlawful and violates due process protections.
The lawsuit, filed by Democracy Forward and three other legal organizations on behalf of 12 immigrants, aims to stop the arrests at immigration courts, a contentious tactic that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency began using in May to increase deportations nationwide.
From New York to California, ICE agents have arrested immigrants appearing for routine proceedings at immigration courts, prompting criticism from Democrats and activists that ICE is unfairly targeting people who are following the rules by showing up to court. Federal agents, typically wearing masks, have become a mainstay in courthouse lobbies and hallways, where they have arrested scores of migrants who are leaving courtrooms and who are placed in expedited deportation proceedings that don’t require hearings

Those lawsuits prove nothing.

In England, you can face penalties for filing frivolous lawsuits. In America, you can pretty much sue anyone for anything. It means nothing.

Immigration authorities in Chicago arrested a Mexican illegal immigrant accused of decapitating a missing Illinois woman and storing her body in a storage container filled with bleach.

Jose Luis Mendoza-Gonzalez, 52, of Waukegan, Illinois, was arrested in April and charged with concealing a corpse, abusing a corpse and obstruction of justice, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Immediately after his first court appearance, Lake County Judge Randie Bruno released Mendoza-Gonzalez from custody.

He was arrested again Saturday afternoon at a market in Chicago by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and remains in ICE custody, according to DHS.

ICE ARRESTS ALLEGED GANG MEMBER HIDING FROM MEXICAN AUTHORITIES IN SANCTUARY CITY: 'HEINOUS MURDERER'

In April, police in Waukegan, Illinois, found the body of 37-year-old Megan Bos, who was reported missing March 9, in a container in Mendoza-Gonzalez’s yard.

She disappeared in February, according to family members.

Mendoza-Gonzalez was accused of keeping Bos' body in his yard for nearly two months and abusing her corpse.

DHS officials told FOX News Bos’ body had been decapitated, and she was found in a bleach-filled storage container.
"It is absolutely repulsive this monster walked free on Illinois’ streets after allegedly committing such a heinous crime," a DHS spokesperson told Fox News. "Megan Bos and her family will have justice."
After Mendoza-Gonzalez's release in April, Antioch Mayor Scott Gartner criticized laws that allowed the suspected criminal alien to be released, according to a report from affiliate FOX 32 Chicago.

"I was shocked to find out literally the next day that the person that they had arrested for this had been released from prison under the SAFE-T Act less than, detained less, I think, than 48 hours," Gartner said. "There's other extenuating circumstances in this case. Not only the type of crime, how long the crime was concealed, the fact that the person that was arrested for this is not a U.S. citizen, and, you know, can maybe [flee] the country."

Mendoza-Gonzalez allegedly told authorities Bos overdosed at his house and, instead of calling 911, he broke her phone and kept her body in the basement for two days before moving it outside, according to the report.

Republican state Rep. Tom Weber expressed concern about Mendoza-Gonzalez's release in April.

"Someone that hid their body in a garbage can for 51 days after leaving it in the basement for two days, after not calling 911 [and] breaking a phone. Is this a non-detainable offense?" Weber said. "Should we not find out, wait for a toxicology report, anything?"

Yes of course. But I looked into it and have to admit I'm a little bit wrong. I guess things have changed. In some states you can face monetary fines for frivolity.

We need another amnesty like happened under Reagan. Traffic across the border has slowed significantly. If we can fix the system that would be great, too. Big ask, I know.
yes, we need another amnesty.

However, this amnesty need NOT include
1) those who have come in the last 4 years (there does need to be a date in the sand),
2) those who have been convicted of a violent crime or are awaiting trial for them, or
3) those under current deportation orders.

I'm not sure about number two. Those fellows who were deported to South Sudan got a sweet "briar patch" deal. They should have been kept here to serve their time.

Unbelievably, 48% of Hispanic voters supported Trump in the 2024 election.

Months later, only 35% approve of him. While I am sorry that this dawning of awareness did not happen earlier, I understand it completely.

Whether the Hispanic voter is an immigrant, a first-generation American, or possibly a second-generation American, I am sure that they realize exactly what life conditions they were fleeing, or how desperate they were.

Very few "waited in line." Most were grandfathered in under Reagan's amnesty. They themselves (or their parents) did exactly what many undocumented immigrants do today, and they were not punished.

And what about the Cubans? They know what it was like to be a refugee fleeing communism. I wonder what they think about Trump's lies about the Haitian refugees--"they're eating the dogs!" I wonder what they think about refugee status being cancelled--when the refugees have no home to return to?

I can empathize because my grandparents fled poverty in Ireland...but that was in the early 20th century. How must these immigrants (or first-generation) or refugees must feel--with the hunger, fear, and uncertainty embedded in their vestigial memories? They understand what a president born with a platinum spoon in his mouth doesn't. They know the truth. And that knowledge should forever disaqualify the people with ICE on their shirts and their leaders with ICE in their veins.
I would bet these Hispanics were American citizens. They know why they came here.

The frivolous lawsuits are all the ones filed in federal district courts with progressive judges in order to subvert the will of the people by attempting to stop the agenda of our elected President of the United States of America.

No we don't want to incentivize illegal entry. Either they can self deport and their chances of legal immigration remain, or they can get caught and have no chance to immigrate.

We can tieghten the border fr the furture while also saving resources and allowing people who came here for the right reasons ( not the right way, but for the right reasons) to stay.

Yeah, I would think there should be proper limitations. And perhaps there should be a probation period where major criminal offense nullify the amnesty?
