Tech mogul's new political movement comes one day after Trump signed $3.3T 'big, beautiful bill' into law

Elon Musk says the two-party system is broken, and he just launched a new political party to prove it.

On Saturday, Musk announced on X, the social media platform he owns, the formation of the "America Party," calling it a direct response to what he described as a corrupt political establishment that no longer represents the American people.

The announcement followed a viral July 4 poll on X, where Musk asked whether voters wanted independence from what he called the "two-party (some would say uniparty) system."

Continued below.

Absolutely the worse thing Musk can do. We already have enough division in this nation without his trying to become in charge of a political party. He needs to stick to what he does best. I am very disappointed in Elon

Well it might be interesting to see how it turns out. Personally I think it will probably fizzle. Because I think Musk has alienated himself from both liberal and conservative voters and I doubt there's enough middle ground to give him enough support. But who knows?

Musk's anger at the BBB is that the mandate for electric vehicles was removed.

Musk, during the previous administrations, went to all the auto manufacturers and
convinced them that they need to start producing electric vehicles. Not because
of Tulsa, that was a smoke screen. Rather, it was because Musk bought all the power
stations that would be needed to supply recharging of electric vehicles. In other words,
Musk would own the electrical infrastructure of the nation. The removal of the mandate
went against his personal goals.

PBD provides the evidence;

I used to like Elon until he is against this bill.

Wait, it's Elon being against the bill that's going to kill the poor, gut the middle class, line the pockets of the ultra-wealthy, and drive us even deeper into debt that made you not like him?

I don't like Elon, I think he's a moron who cozies up to Nazis and repeats literal Nazi talking points. And his whole DOGE thing was nothing more than taking a baseball bat to a pottery exhibit. The fact that he doesn't like the BBB is maybe like the one thin I might actually agree with Elon on. But that's what makes you not like him?

We live in weird times.

Ross Perot was a billionaire and so is Musk. Musk may have a better image crafted, but his momentum is all based on Trump. So take away Trump, and then it's like: So what?

Such lies.
Plus Musk is originally from two other countries before becoming an American. There's a general bias against people like that.

PLEASE, PEOPLE! LET'S BE CIVIL HERE. CALLING EACH OTHER NAZIS OR SAYING THAT SOMEONE SHOULDN'T CALL THEMSELVES A CHRISTIAN DOESN'T MEET THE DEFINITION OF "CIVIL".
