A question I have is this: why would Satan be so active in preventing God’s drawing if people are born totally unable to believe?
The evidence doesn’t fit the Calvinist doctrine of total inability. I wonder why Calvinists seem so blind to that inconsistency? Oh, right.

Satan fights a lot of losing battles. He tried getting Job to curse God. He tried tempting the Saviour to sin. Similarly, he will try to stop those drawn by the Father, Christ's sheep, believing.

Because Christ’s sheep carry out Christ’s work. Christ is the winner of the war, except satan doesn’t seem to know or accept it. Besides, who else is he going to do battle with?

We were all dead to begin with, dead in trespasses and sins. Satan, in spite of what Jesus says about all that the Father gives Him will come to Him, will try and stop people believing in the Saviour.

Which he cannot do because Jesus for His Sheep has destroyed the works of the devil 1 Jn 3 8

So if one Christ died for, dies in their sins and unbelief, the devil was victorious over Jesus, because the devil prevents from believing and being saved Lk 8 12

And John 6:65 is not answering that. If we learn from the Father or not by our own free libertarian will so we can come to Jesus is another question. It's not something the Bible clearly explains.

The word dead here nekros means:

adj: dead, lifeless, subject to death, mortal, (b) noun: a dead body, a corpse.

The lifeless here by nature is lifeless spiritually. Spiritually to God and things of God man naturally is liken to a dead lifeless corpse.

Jesus used this same word here Matt 8:22

Now the dead was to bury the dead. The Spiritually dead person was to bury the physically dead person. Yet the Spiritually dead person wasnt dead physically was he ? Did you know that one can be dead, lifeless and yet be physically live and active ?

Now in order for a man to come to Christ he must first have life, no not physical life but spiritual life which not even the elect have by nature.

In The Bible where does it say a person who is not a believer dies spiritually twice. Because the only mention of spiritual death is at the great white throne where the unbeliever experiences the second death. Which is spiritual death, because the first death is physical death.


Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
