I am sure you will find errors in many books, including Catholic ones. This Catechism should have been scrutinized more carefully for errors before allowing its printing.

Jesus' explicit command:

Matthew 28:19
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
The biblical record indicates all NT water baptism was administered in the singular name of Jesus. In addition, all church encyclopedias, etc. reveal the same. I share this because I myself did not realize this was true. After a careful study I made the decision to obey God rather than follow an erroneous tradition. Since eternity is such a long time I truly hope you will consider searching this out for yourself. And I pray you will be blessed.

After almost 2000 years it is still the same in the Catholic Church. When an adult wishes to convert to the Catholic Church he or she first believes and THEN is baptized. We are saved through the sacrament of Baptism as the Bible says:

Peter 3:20-21 who formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were saved through water. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. RSVCE
Both obedience to water baptism in the name of Jesus and receiving the Holy Ghost are requirements of the NT rebirth. Along with belief in Jesus and repentance of course. Detailed accounts reveal the experience of receiving the Holy Ghost is not simutaneous with water baptism. Some receive the Holy Ghost before being water baptized, (Acts 2:4, 10:43-48) and others afterward. (Acts 2:38, 8:12-18)

You are adding something that is not there into Acts 2:37-38. The passage states:

Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and they asked Peter and the other apostles, "What are we to do, my brothers?" Peter (said) to them, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit."

Note the passage does not say "afterward." In fact it does not specify either during or afterward. 3 Peter as I quoted above actually states:
"Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, . . ."

The point is the experience of receiving the Holy Ghost is not simultaneous with obedience to water baptism. And both experiences are essential for salvation.

Actually the two take place simultaneously. There is no reason to assume that if the Holy Spirit comes during some other sacrament that it is impossible to receive the Holy Spirit at Baptism. In fact you argue that the Holy Spirit spirit comes at different times. 3 Peter clearly states Baptism saves, you say water and the Holy Spirit are necessary, thus it must be simultaneous.

There is no need to assume the truth when the inspired word of God reveals the truth. The two experiences do not take place simultaneously:

Acts 8:12-17 (Samaritans-half Jewish-half Gentile)
But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Acts 10:43-48 (Gentiles)
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Acts 19:2-6 (Disciples who did not realize they had to water baptized in Jesus name)
He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Water AND Spirit:
John 1:29-34. The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. He is the one of whom I said, ‘A man is coming after me who ranks ahead of me because he existed before me.’ I did not know him, but the reason why I came baptizing with water was that he might be made known to Israel.” John testified further, saying, “I saw the Spirit come down like a dove from the sky and remain upon him. I did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘On whomever you see the Spirit come down and remain, he is the one who will baptize with the holy Spirit.’ Now I have seen and testified that he is the Son of God.”

1 Peter 3:20-21- cooresponds to what is stated by Peter in Acts 2:38. Baptism does save. Note Peter promised the gift of the Holy Ghost would be given to those who believe, repent and are baptized in the name of Jesus for remission of sin. Those who believe and obey obtain the NT rebirth Jesus referenced in John 3:3-5.

John 1;29-34 - The account you reference is exclusive to Jesus. And what occurred did so as confirmation that Jesus was the Son of God.
Whereas, all detailed conversion accounts in the NT reveal the two experiences occur separately.

Not the proof I was asking for. This is just the opinion of Ignatius about the role of bishops.

I was clearly asking you where is the proof that the RCC has the complete oral teaching of Christ/apostles.

I am losing interest/patience in waiting for your answers. You take 14 weeks pause and then come with non-answers. So I am logging out of this thread.
I will answer this for whoever is still reading this thread. I have many other things going on in my life. I can't read these threads as often as I would like to.

Jesus Christ founded his church upon the foundation of the prophets and the apostles with himself as the capstone (Ephesians 2:19-21). Jesus Christ authorized his apostles, as his personally appointed leaders of his church, to preach/teach his gospel. (Matthew 28:19-20) He promised that he would send his Holy Spirit to guide them into all truth and that he would be with them always. (John 16:12-14) He also said that his church on earth would prevail until he returned bodily to earth at the end of time. (Matthew 16:17-19, 2 Timothy 4:8) His church is hierarchal. Acts 1:24-26, 2 Timothy 2:2, 1 Timothy 3:1-5

Jesus also said to beware of the wolves (evil bishops, priests, and deacons) in sheep's clothing who will work within his church like Judases to destroy it. (Acts 20:28-30) There are many of these wicked men in his church right now, and only prayer and fasting will remove them.
Acts 14:23

In about the 300s-400s AD, Catholic Church leaders compiled their "Bible" from their early leaders' writings to supplement their oral teachings. Jesus did not command any of them to write a Bible. He commanded them to preach/teach his gospel to his disciples in person.

The biblical record and the early Church Fathers' writings show that the apostles obeyed Jesus' commandment in Matthew 28:18-20 to make disciples for him through water baptism in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Regarding traditions, the traditions taught by the apostles are not in any way erroneous.

2 Thessalonians 2:15 Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours.

1 Corinthians 11:2 I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold fast to the traditions, just as I handed them on to you.

2 Thessalonians 3:6 We instruct you, brothers, in the name of [our] Lord Jesus Christ, to shun any brother who conducts himself in a disorderly way and not according to the tradition they received from us.

The Didache, also known as The Lord's Teaching Through the Twelve Apostles to the Nations (written in the first century AD):

Chapter 7. Concerning Baptism

And concerning baptism, baptize this way: Having first said all these things, baptize into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Matthew 28:19 in living water. But if you have not living water, baptize into other water; and if you can not in cold, in warm. But if you have not either, pour out water thrice upon the head into the name of Father and Son and Holy Spirit. But before the baptism let the baptizer fast, and the baptized, and whatever others can; but you shall order the baptized to fast one or two days before. (CHURCH FATHERS: The Didache)

I pray that you will be blessed also. :)

Please provide scriptural proof that the apostles baptized using the phrase, "in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost."
There isn't any Scriptural proof that they disobeyed Jesus' commandment in Matthew 28:18-19 and baptized in the human name of Jesus only.

The Scriptures were a supplement to the apostles’/disciples’ oral preaching/teaching. The people who listened to these letters from their leaders knew that "the baptism of Jesus" and "baptizing in Jesus' name," etc., were idioms that meant to water baptize as Jesus commanded in Matthew 28:18-19 in order to have their sins forgiven. This idiom was used to differentiate between the water baptism that Jesus commanded that literally forgave one's sins from the baptism that John the Baptist preached, which was a water baptism that publicly showed one's repentance for one's sins. Mark 1:4

The actual detailed biblical accounts reveal the apostles never wavered from baptizing in the singular name of Jesus. Why? Because upon obedience to water baptism in His name people are actually being buried with Jesus and breaking forth from the waters of baptism as a new creation IN Christ Jesus. (Romans. 6:3-6) The NT spiritual rebirth experience parallels the natural birth process designed by God Himself. And without the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ none could hope to experience it.

After conception and prior to exiting the water of the mother's womb the baby turns, this is a picture of one's turning toward God in repentance. Those who are willing to obey God are buried WITH JESUS in the water's of baptism and break forth as a child of God having taken on the family name. (Ephesians 3:15)

I recently attended the Jesus Tent Revival in Staunton, Virginia where God opened the eyes of about 200 people who were baptized, and some rebaptized upon seeing the truth as expressed in the word of God. Revelation is spreading all across the world as the end draws near.

Sadly, many fail to realize they have been following a tradition that contradicts the actions of the apostles. And the word reveals there are dire consequences for those who refuse to obey God. Partial obedience is in fact disobedience.

Please consider what the detailed water baptism accounts reveal:

Acts 2:38-39

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

Acts 8:12-17

Acts 10:43-48
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Acts 11:13-14
And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;
Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.

Acts 22:14-16 (Paul's water baptism)
And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.
For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Mark 1:4
The name reference in Matthew 28:19 is far more than a mere idiom. God's word reveals there is no other NAME under heaven whereby we must be saved. Consider that Father, Son and Holy Ghost are not names but rather they are titles. And the scripture specifically states to baptize in the name of... Meaning in a singular name. What's the name?

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth. Philippians 2:9-10

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12

To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. Acts 10:43

Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Luke 24:47

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38

As you know there is not one instance of baptism being administered using the phrase, "I baptize you in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost." This is because forerunners of the Roman Catholic Church began this practice around 325 AD. As I referenced, the Roman Catholic Church's own publications admit to making the change from baptism in the name of Jesus to follow their manmade tradition.

Those who take the time to study this out will understand the words spoken in chapter 18 of the Book of Revelation: Come out of her... Be obedient and submit to the biblical teaching; be water baptized in the name of Jesus for remission of sin and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost! (Acts 2:38)

Study it for yourselves people. According to Jesus, those who hunger and thirst after righteousness shall be filled!

People throughout the world are coming to realize the truth concerning the need to obey God and be water baptized in the name of Jesus in order for their sins to be washed away; and become a new creation in Christ Jesus. Remember Jesus said unless a man is born of water and Spirit he cannot ENTER the kingdom of God. NO ONE will enter Heaven with the stain of sin! (Matt. 7:23)

For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Acts 11:13-14
And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;
Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.

You do not understand the idioms used by people in the first century AD.

It seems that you believe that the apostles blatantly disobeyed Jesus' commandment in Matthew 28:18-20 and instead made up their own new formula for baptism, using only Jesus' own human name.

John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him.

Belief in Jesus Christ requires obedience to his commandments.

Acts 2:38
Jesus' command in Matthew 28:18-19 must be obeyed.

Yes, at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow. Yes, it is Jesus' sacrifice that saved us.

However, our salvation was brought to us by the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit working together, not by Jesus only. This is why we must be baptized as Jesus commanded in Matthew 28:18-19 in order to be saved and have Adam's sin and our own sins forgiven.

These publications are in error if this is what they claim. The Catholic Church is the church founded by Jesus Christ. It was not founded in 325 AD.

"As St. Ignatius of Antioch wrote, "Wherever the bishop appears, there let the people be; as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church". This statement underscores the bishop's role as the central figure in the local Church, representing Christ and ensuring the unity and continuity of the faith." AI generated.
Those who take the time to study this out will understand the words spoken in chapter 18 of the Book of Revelation: Come out of her... Be obedient and submit to the biblical teaching; be water baptized in the name of Jesus for remission of sin and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost! (Acts 2:38)
This snippet from Chapter 18 in the Book of Revelation was in reference to the unbelieving Jews in Jerusalem who rejected Jesus Christ as their Messiah and his New Covenant. Jesus destroyed them, using the Roman armies, in 70 AD.

The apostles did not disobey Jesus. The apostles were not instructed to repeat Jesus' command, but rather to obey His command; thus, they administered water baptism in His name. They knew Jesus was the Father in creation, the son in redemption, and the Holy Ghost in regeneration. Again, the word says IN JESUS dwells all the fulness of the Godhead. (Father, Son and Holy Ghost)

You are correct, Jesus' command in Matthew 28 must be obeyed. And Jesus is obeyed when people administer water baptism in the name of Jesus. Yet, again, scripture reveals IN JESUS dwells all the fulness of the Godhead. The Apostle Paul expressed that people were to be baptized in the name of the one crucified for them. (1 Corinthians 1:13)

Please let the following scripture sink in:
"For in him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

Buried with him (Jesus) in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him (Jesus) through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead." Col. 2:9-12
