Hey, if Elon's party comes up with a good party platform that aims to balance the budget, I could consider voting for it. I'm not all that fond of the other party platforms. On the other hand, I'm kinda committed to voting against the MAGA Party these days, and I need an alternative that has a good chance of winning.

I think Elon’s platform can draw democrat supporters thereby helping republicans. The key issue Elon has with MAGA is balancing the budget to address the debt. If I remember correctly, a lot of Dems were screaming about this not being addressed in the latest bill. Also Elon’s platform will have subsidies for green energy like solar panels that he's been aggressively pushing. This is in support of the climate-change green agenda, something strongly supported by Dem voters but a complete turn off to MAGA republicans who will steer clear of any party promoting this agenda.

Elon claims the American Party will be centrist. As I mentioned in a post that got deleted by moderators, the Dem party has moved so far left that many Dem voters are centrists by comparison, but because of their media fueled rabid hatred for Trump, they still vote Dems. But now they have an alternative: a centrist party created because of opposition to Trump that pushes their green agenda, among other things.

Elon will back this party but he can’t lead it because he’s foreign born. This means he’ll have to repeat exactly what he did with Trump and the republicans, only this time with a different party and beside a different “centrist” leader who unlike Trump, will be submissive to Elon, the party’s CREATOR. This will look very strange and could windup being a complete disaster for Elon, the new American Party and for the Democrats, especially if the US economy is roaring by the midterms because of Trump’s policies.

Yes... that's what I meant... backing the party means he can run it but he can't lead the party as a candidate for the presidency.
