I said most of the people that are going to be hurt by the passing of this bill are not those who entered the country illegally or those scamming the system. There's a lot more to this bill than work requirements being added to SNAP and Medicaid. BTW, there have never been work requirements for receiving Medicaid.
“Okay, you’ve gotten your chemotherapy, now off to Walmart to greet customers! Don’t be tardy or they’ll fire you and we will be forced to kick you off Medicaid!”

No, it's "okay, you got your open heart surgery today so it's back to the salt mines you go, and if you're not able to do your daily 16 hours of hard labor, we'll gleefully cut you off Medicaid and starve your family until we deport all of you even though you're US citizens MUHAHAHA".

With regards to the “illegals” at least some of them have “somewhere” to “go back to”. America’s poor are stuck here.
Then why have many sanctuary cites ignored their own poor in favor of illegals?

Ugh, expecting people who are perfectly capable of working to do some kind of work instead of everything being handed to them on a silver platter while they vegetate. What is this country coming to?

You're getting it backwards. People who are working still don't have enough to get by. Lots of folks are working and getting assistance. I know a bunch, but the jobs don't pay enough. If you live in a poor, rural area, you probably already know this.

My comment was regarding some individuals who are between the ages of 18 and 65 and who are not otherwise unable to work due to a medical condition, family situation, or other listed reason to work or volunteer at least 20 hours per week, based on a monthly average, in order to qualify for Medicaid.

That's what I see being complained about the most and way overdramatized.

Hence: Ugh, expecting people who are perfectly capable of working to do some kind of work instead of everything being handed to them on a silver platter while they vegetate. What is this country coming to?

There's a whole lot of single able-bodied young men who spend all their time vegetating who are on Medicaid.

Right, you're toeing the party line. We get it. Don't fool yourself for the moment. If they felt like they could have cut it all, they would have. You know why they didn't? Their voting constituents depend on it. Those hard working Americans need it. You know why? Our system is built around the needs of the rich, i.e., "capitalism."

If they got it they wouldn't be distorting the facts and overdramatizing. They want communism or socialism or whatever system where those who succeed should supply everything for those who don't want to do anything.

We all pay taxes for the common good, so stop acting like Lenin just walked in the room. The questions is "What should we pay and where should it go." Like I said, the current system benefits the rich. I won't go so far as to say the benefits we have had for those in need are that great because they're not. We need to regroup and think about what really matters (I.e. the good of the whole), how to do it efficiently, and who should help pay for it. Democrats are in great position to do that. The GOP has shown they are greedy and inept.

Democrat politicians are rich and they haven't done anything except con people by pretending they're altruistic.

As for who pays what according to the IRS:
  • Top 1%: Paid 40.4% of all federal income taxes.
  • Top 10%: Paid 76% of all income taxes.
  • Top 50%: Paid 97% of all federal individual income taxes.
  • Bottom 50%: Paid the remaining 3%.
As someone who's always been at the bottom of the bottom 50%, I have always fared better under republican administrations.

Most all politicians at that level are rich or they will benefit from their supposed "service" if they stick around. We are the ones who refuse to change it, but we do have the ability. At any rate, who has spending power after taxes are paid, the rich or the poor? Give the poor more breathing room, more support, and more opportunity, and things improve for everyone. Maybe the ultra rich would loose something, which would be a petty penance for them, but who cares? They have more than enough. If Republicans made smart choices to lift up the lower classes, everyone would benefit. As things stand now, they are potentially sawing off the branch upon which they sit. Good riddance, I say.

As someone who's been as lower class as it gets for 63 years, who's lived and worked with the poor my entire life, I've yet to see Democrats actually give us anything special. If you're an illegal alien or a drug addict or just plain lazy you get free stuff. But the working poor? Nah. They just raise our taxes. If the rich got heavily taxed, I doubt I'd get a piece of that. Maybe a token stimulus check. But not much else.

The reverse is true as well.
The "concern" for the unborn is discredited by their utter lack of concern for their fellow human beings whose only crime was seeking a better life for themselves and their familes.

When one mocks the illegal immigrant, Jesus himself is mocked.
Wing2000 Christ said the poor you have with you always. Every nation has their limit in what they can provide . If every nation opened its boarders they would cease to represent their nation and the majority would be poor if not all. They do say that charity begins firstly at home. I think there is also a big difference in feeding the poor and accepting illegals in as your own

If the liberals are so concerned for the poor why have many mainly in sanctuary cities chosen to take far better care of the illegals than their own citizens who are poor or homeless veterans or just the homeless in general? Look at the communist running for mayor in NY. He promises utopia to the poor in reality only want in the end to lord it over the masses. Government run grocery stores, government over the means of production, eliminating billionaires who build the businesses and create the jobs. Why do so many fall for this ruse? It is because the liberal ideology has so influenced and lied to the gullible that many think liberal politicians care about them but nothing could be further from the truth. BYW there are liberal Republicans just fewer than on the Democrat side of the isle.

Sorry you are disappointed that Republicans vote with Republicans. That is something you should understand Democrats always vote in lock step.
