Local LEOS typically don't get involved with civil enforcement of any kind. Usually that kind of thing is the job of the County Sheriff. Criminals are another matter altogether.

Yes I think they are. It should also be constitutional to restrict certain federal funds to those places IF they are spending ANY federal tax dollars for any reason on illegals. If they want illegals there then they can support them with their own tax dollars. Which i believe would also be constitutional.

You want the state and local governments to use their own money to catch and deport illegals? Never mind, you said "for any reason" but I take your meaning. The problem with that is that we are not all on the same page as who is an "illegal."

That may be true to a point. But typically federal dollars being spent in states on programs for illegals isnt going to legal visa holders. Its going to illegals for housing, medical care, food, transportation, laundry etc. Thats what I'm talking about. If a state wants to do that with its own money, then so be it.

In my opinion, everyone that comes through a point of entry and is allowed in is not illegal, conversely, anyone that does not come in through a point of entry is illegal.

ETA- Those that overstay and their permission is revoke have then become illegal.

Thats false. There are illegals in sanctuary states and cities who are receiving that care no matter what their status. Thats why they are called sanctuary places. And no one is checking.

Most of these federal tax dollars are funneled through the states to NGOs who then distribute the money to others who then use it to pay for these things. States are left to manage the resources and they give it to NGOs who then manage it with little to no oversight because these sanctuary places do not want to. Its becauae they receive the federal dollars and it saves their state from having to cover it.

The Marine veteran says his father, Narciso Barranco, was working [as a landscaper] outside of a Santa Ana IHOP on Saturday when several masked men approached him. Frightened, he began to run away, his son said. Moments later, he was on the ground, held down by the men, who struck him.

The younger Barranco told The Times on Sunday that his father was pepper sprayed and beaten, and that his shoulder was dislocated. After speaking with him Sunday at about 6 p.m., Barranco said his father had not received medical treatment, food or water after more than 24 hours in a detention facility in Los Angeles.
