  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"Evangelical Christians overwhelmingly support President Donald Trump because they believe he'll cause the world to end."

Has this article only gained relevance since it was published?

If so, what's behind it? Why are Trump's Evangelical supporters so passionate about seeing the End Times, and why do they buy into the idea of Trump as the catalyst? Is the Apocalypse not coming soon enough for them? Do they have so little faith in things coming about as ordained that they believe they have to bring about the Last Days themselves through Trump?

With major conflict dangerously close in Iran, would Evangelical supporters of Trump be willing to risk seeing the world destroyed....and dying along with it....rather than see end-time prophecy fail?

It is Dispensationalism ,with a futuristic twist, that teaches the hastening of " end of days" . The core of the issue is the theological view of geopolitical Israel. If you really want to know the mindset of these Christians, you will need to do a deep dive study. You will not find it in scripture, even though it is used and twisted in order to conform. This man made theological system of eschatology can be easily found in your local bookstore. The books are plentiful in this cottage industry category.
Apologies for being too candid.
Be blessed.
