TV cameras captured the moment full-face "bionic shield" masks were handed out to demonstrators from the back of a pickup truck.

Footage of the scene showed boxes of solid, full-face masks—almost akin to helmets—being handed out from the back of a pickup truck by two women while a masked driver waited for them to unload the goods.

The footage has sparked concerns among some that external agitators are facilitating riots by equipping crowds for potential clashes with the police or National Guard. However, others say the masks are safety gear, worn as a precaution after protesters were injured by rubber bullets that the authorities fired.

Watching the video, it looks like water and snacks being unloaded from the back of the truck. There are three boxes on the ground that may have contained face shields, but there's no way to know where they came from.

Multiple sources have said they are high end masks.

They are not something you run down to Walmart and get.

I deleted my post after watching a longer video. I did notice the faceshields being handed out along with the water and snacks. That brand of face shield can be purchased on Amazon for just under $30.

That's not always the case. LAPD and the CHP seem to be doing a pretty good job of keeping things quite without a lot of excessive force. They also deplyod to protect the army units from close contact with demonstrators.

I've seen quite a lot of "tactical gear" available to civilians on the net. Some is of dubious quality. I own firearms and go to training classes. Sometimes so of the other attendees have various tactical gear on, often including helmets, and high level vest/body armor. I've never asked any of these individuals where they got those items.

Given that, I can see one group or another buying some of this gear, again of likely very suspicious quality. It may be a good part of an investigation as to the items origin when/if the individuals involved are arrested.

Yet we haven't seen any cases where the police, or National Guard, or even the Marines shoot any of the "peaceful protesters" who have been hurling bricks at passing cars, which could easily kill someone. Law enforcement certainly has the right to use deadly force when confronted with deadly force, and they have the right to use it against these rioters--I mean "peaceful protesters". Since they aren't using that right, the rioters will continue doing what they're doing as long as their sanctuary state government officials make excuses for the behavior of the rioters.

Doesnt matter. The loonytoons think they are effective. So those distributing them blatantly intend on escalating violence.
