  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Musk's Government Slashing Took Place When He Was Under the Influence of Ketamine, Ecstasy, Adderall, and More

While Tesla the company is not doing so well.
Because of their actual product offerings, or because of the political stances/affiliations of the owner caused people to do an outrage boycott?

Nevertheless it's unlikely Musk is simultaneously a drug addict and the most successful businessman in the world.
You're absolutely correct! It's impossible for successful people to have a drug problem. Elvis Presley, Whitney Houston, and Michael Jackson are here to prove it!
If he was losing money, then it would make more sense. But rather he's close to making a billon dollars per day.
EXACTLY! Elvis, Whitney, & MJ are still raking it in!

Their latest product is an electric El Camino dressed in panels from an old walk-in cooler.

Yeah, that may be a more convincing talking point (about vehicle aesthetics) if the "we need to get off of fossil fuels asap" crowd didn't spend the better part of a decade driving the "turd on wheels" that was the Prius (and bragging about it)

Let's be frank, environmentalists had no issues with driving an ugly car for the trade-off of "it doesn't burn gasoline and pump smog into the air"

They started hating Tesla for the same reason people were burning their Nikes in the back yard and shooting guns as cases of Bud Light.

Do you think the Prius crowd was target audience for the cybertruck? It was all the elon fanbois, etc. They didn't buy them because they sucked and it was overpriced.

I also remember some quality issues with other Tesla cars and a general lack of internal ascetics. Tesla has competition and their products are less desirable.

To be frank, I think you are just unaware of how weak Tesla's position was in the market and with their product development. The only thing that has been holding it up are their superfans. (same with their overpriced stock)

"Weak market position"

You mean almost 60% of the market share on EV's prior to Musk's alignment with Trump? (stat from 2021)

To put that in perspective, Coca-Cola has about 22% of the market share with regards to the domestic soda market, we'd never say that Coke had a "weak market position" would we?

Can we stop pretending that the left is somehow "less petty" than the right when it comes to matters like this?

Examples that are not even close to being the most successful businessman on earth.

It’s a response to your much more silly notion that high net worth precludes people from poor choices or problems.
It's not just high net worth. It's twice the highest net worth of anyone else on earth.

You really think a small car maker is worth more than all of the other car companies in the country combined?

It's actually closer to half a billion dollars.
Between March and June he's made an extra 70 billion. That comes out to 23 billion per month or 777 million per day.
Being a drug addict doesn't preclude one from making money, especially when that money is mostly gained by stock market increases.

Even the titular character from "weekend at bernies" could make fat stacks with Musk's current setup. It would actually take more effort to lower Musk's fortunes at this point.
I'd like to see someone name another most successful business person on earth who's out in the forefront working hard on a daily basis, who's also a drug addict. It just goes to show people will believe anything said about their enemy, even if it doesn't hold up or make any sense.

How can a company be doing poorly while its stock is doing really well?
Easy. They’re selling less of their product than they used to and are drastically less popular than they were.

That just explains how a company can be doing poorly. It doesn't however explain how a company can be doing poorly while its stock is doing really well.

He makes poor choices and is twice over the most successful person, doesn't add up.
His net worth is the product of an irrationally over valued stock not actual production on his part at this point.

It’s objectively the case with Tesla.
