Does anyone have any input on how the pursuit of unprovable factual truths has helped you grow your faith? The reason I ask is I do have an intense curiosity about what really happened. What did the life of Adam and Eve really look like. But the more I try to focus on that curiosity, I end up with more questions than answers and I don't end up any closer to God.

No one has all the answers, God didn't give them to us in scriptures.
And I noticed how you praise the question "unprovable factual truth." According to the theologies of unbelieving humans today if it's unprovable it's not factual, and if it's not factual it's not truth.
But most unbelievers tend to believe what science has learned. Science tells us through the process of evolution groups of humanoids evolved. Only one article I've read years ago focused on the first male and the first female, all other articles focus on evolutionary groups of humanoids and say they all evolved in groups. Yet there had to be a first! And science cannot prove there wasn't a singular first.
What did the life of Adam and Eve really look like we don't know how long they were in the garden, protected by God. But what we do know according to scripture they were vegetarians and the animals that surrounded them were friendly.
After they were cast out of the garden, God's protection did not cover them. One can say they were what is now called farmers, they work the land to grow the seeds into food and they herded certain animals. Farming has not changed throughout the eons.
They use animal hide as clothing, or went bare as what many has they call uncivilized people, did even until the 18th century in some countries, maybe a flap to cover the lower extremities, that did not change until the invention of material.
As far as their walk with God God visited them while they were in the garden and I'm quite sure God continued to visit them after they were cast out. In those days God made it personal between he and his creation, there was no guesswork on who he was or his existence. But man has the heart of man and he's rebellious nature.
Science gives us a close look at how human life looked 10,000 / 20,000 / 30,000 up years ago. And I personally believe Adam and Eve were here thousands of years before they sinned.
