It is a phrase not to be taken literally. It means atheist find comfort believing that there is no accountability for their actions in the afterlife and unafraid of sinning against some invisible deity. They want to live their lives how they wish and control their own destiny as if they were their own personal God of their own little universe.

That doesn't make sense, because we have a society with laws and punishments. There is plenty of accountability within the society.

The only true will in existence from the beginning is only the God of this whole entire universes will, so that One's judgment cannot be based solely or mostly on that, etc.

Because none of us is really good, or else bad really, but we're just meant for different purposes/existences really, so His judgement could most definitely be based on that. A bad vessel meant only for a bad use has no place to be/belong in heaven, etc, but only has it's uses here for getting others there, etc.

The whole point to all this temporary evil, and evil people, is only just to afflict the souls of the righteous, and qualify them for Heaven. But the one's doing this afflicting, don't ever go through, or don't ever meet any of this qualifying, etc. And so, after this, there is no place for them there, etc.

There is so much evidence these days (unbiased study into anticipatory engineering in animals and insects for example) God told me let them lead each other around if they really want. I won't quote the Lord directly, but I'm sure the curious can search out the Word of God on that subject.

Let them believe what they want and love them anyway. Matthew 7:7 is a promise to those seeking His guidance, not to those who think they know everything themselves or who ask fallen humanity. I answer humble questions if people have them and let them believe their crazy imaginations if they have those. I'm not going to be answering God for them when we all get there.

The darkness and evil is real, and alive... it wants men's souls and it is relentless and never sleeps.

When we think we can lead ourselves and figure it out ourselves is when darkness has us by the ankles, even if we are unaware. Unaware... is exactly where they want you.

Then the fact that someone realises that morality varies depending on very many aspects of any given situation is not, in itself, the standard.

And I've been down this path so many times, but if there is a moral absolute then it must come from God. And how many interpretations do we have regarding what God wants? And leading from that, if you have a command from God that you say cannot possibly be misinterpreted then you must either follow it without consideration or you must make a personal decision whether it is right to follow it.

The latter means that whether it is right or wrong is relative. The former results in planes being flown into buildings.

I think you are dancing around my point. My point being that atheist want to be their own personal god. What is your moral standard? The ten commandments you make yourself. What makes your personal ten commandments better than that of another? Because you are God of your universe.

Atheists don’t believe in gods. Why would they believe they are a god? Adding extraneous entities is not parsimonious.

It is a VERY common view among Christians. Similar to the belief that if it wasn’t for God people would go out killing.
