  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The auto-pen scandal is going to be massive

There’s a segment of supporters who are 100% for Trump but there are plenty of people who voted for him who aren’t.
I’m not 100% behind him, he’s doing some things that I question and some things that I don’t support
It’s 2:40 am here, I am just up because I am watching a family member with dementia. What time is it there?
5:40pm Tuesday.

I know a couple of people with developing dementia. It's a tough gig for the families. I used to have a tendency to dismiss the disease. Hey, you just forget things is all. Then I saw an Anthony Hopkins film 'The Father'. It horrified me. It brought home how hard it can be for loved ones.

You have my sympathy. I hope all goes as well as it can.

Thanks. This came on suddenly and without the gradual decline that is typical.

Wow, man, you have my sympathy and my respect. We took in my mother in law when she developed Alzheimers after my father in law passed, and then when she passed, a short while later, my own mother started developing dementia. For her, we had no choice but to find a home for her, because she was an amputee in a wheelchair and our house has stairs up the wazoo. Also, my youngest brother was in a home (and he was always Mom's favorite) so this let them be together.

It's a tough ride for all concerned, and anyone who dedicates themselves to care for a family member with these challenges has my respect.

-- A2SG, and just for the sake of it....I'm an hour later than you are....but I work nights, so....

Thanks. It's my mother. This came on suddenly and without warning.
My oldest brother was 16 when he died, I was 7
Then my father died when I was 17.
My other brother died in 2009, so it's just me and her.
I'm going to have to put her in a nursing home. She is 90 and has been living on her own with no problems until this came on suddenly.
(I worked nights for over 10 years, I liked it then but wouldn't want to do it now)

Yeah, that's tough. My wife's folks both passed fairly recently, her mother during covid and her father just a couple of years before that. My mother passed just last winter, and my youngest brother shortly afterward, but all that has brought us closer to my other brother and his family, along with my youngest brother's daughters, so there's that. It helps.

I'm going to have to put her in a nursing home. She is 90 and has been living on her own with no problems until this came on suddenly.
Sometimes, that's the only viable option. We took in my mother in law, but with my mother, we just couldn't. She was in a wheelchair and we only have one bathroom upstairs, so she'd be pretty much confined to that floor...plus she smoked, and we don't. And she wouldn't have quit. As to going outside the house, well, these are the stairs outside our house:

I don't mind it....it's quiet, and it gives me time to write.

My apologies for shouting my mouth off about petty matters like politics while you are doing it tough. Sometimes we can forget that it's a real person with whom we are arguing who may well be suffering some of the troubles and worries that the world throws at us.

Members of the Biden Administration need to go to prison for decades over this.

The House Oversight Committee’s investigation into Biden’s autopen abuse isn’t just political theater—it’s a constitutional reckoning. Bank records show $30M funneled through Biden family shell companies while executive actions like the LNG export pause were signed without his awareness. When Speaker Johnson confronted Biden, he denied his own policy, proving he wasn’t steering the ship.

The Oversight Project’s findings confirm pardons issued via autopen batch signatures lack legal legitimacy if Biden didn’t personally authorize them. This isn’t about partisan grudges—it’s about whether unelected aides committed forgery on presidential documents. Subpoenas for Tomasini, Bernal, and O’Connor are the first step.

Biden’s testimony isn’t optional; it’s mandatory for validating two dozen EOs and pardons that reshaped policy. The clock’s ticking, but the swamp’s still blocking transparency.

In November 2028, an iPhone or Samsung phone is projected to cost $3,000 USD. Although it may seem trivial, American voters will consider the price of iPhones when making their decisions. Good luck GOP distracting American with “ Biden’s crime family”.

Control C is your friend. You'll be able to paste all that (ahem) 'evidence' that you have found.

They went after Trump in search of a crime and the intent was to keep him from being elected.
That isn't true as the NY prosecutors had inherited the case from the previous prosecutors who had gotten the case from Michael Cohen's testimony. Cohen cooperated and provided the timeline and where to find the evidence. In other words, reasonable suspicion existed before Trump was investigated.
It didn't work. It won the primary for him and helped him get elected
Strange that being a convicted felon and official lawbreaker helped him win the primary of the party that used to brag about being in favor of law and order, but here we are.

I have absolutely no idea. I wasn't there.

Were you?

The fact that an auto pen exists and was used at all in the oval office is problematic.

Well, it's been problematic for a while, then. Thomas Jeffereson is the first President known to use such a a device, and it has remained legal up until now. Congress could act, but Congress doesn't seem to act any more and can even be arrested in the course of their duties if the President doesn't like them. It looks like an Executive Order is the only way to get rid of the Autopen.

He wasn't a convicted felon during the primary

Why?
He wasn't a convicted felon during the primary
True, back then he was merely indicted, although he was found to have essentially raped E. Jean Carroll (digitally, bleah) and was no longer allowed to run a charity because of the fraudulent activities with Trump Foundation. And he had rooked his fans with the so-called Trump University.

The use of an autopen in the Oval Office has sparked controversy because it raises questions about **who is actually authorizing decisions**. While autopens have been used by multiple administrations, including Barack Obama’s, some critics argue that relying on an automated signature could obscure whether the president personally approved certain documents.

Recently, House Republicans have focused on former President Joe Biden’s use of an autopen, questioning whether he was making decisions himself or if others were authorizing his signature. The Heritage Foundation has claimed that Biden’s administration used an autopen extensively, particularly when he was traveling. However, legal precedent supports the practice—**a federal appeals court ruled in 2024 that the absence of a physical signature does not invalidate a presidential action**.

Ultimately, the debate centers on **transparency and accountability**—whether the use of an autopen undermines confidence in presidential decision-making or is simply a practical tool for efficiency.

And he still went on to defeat Kamala. That's gotta hurt
