  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How do they recover from lying to the American public non stop for three years?

PLEASE NOTE: This thread is about the report from left leaning reporters on how everyone covered up Joe's declining health and mental ability for three years.
There was no cover-up. Biden's mental health was and is just fine, cancer notwithstanding.

Trump and his supporters are talking about investigations and rolling back autopen-signed documents, etc. The only way that can be done is by establishing in a court of law that Biden's mental capacity was diminished. The only way you can do that is with a doctor's diagnosis during his term in office.

Produce the diagnosis, or admit this entire topic is nothing more than political posturing.

I've seen enough evidence that Biden's mental acuity has declined significantly. I don't need to prove it in court

I've seen enough evidence of the judgment of those who supported Biden's opponent to realize most are not capable of recognizing dementia combined with mental personality disorders.

Maybe they just picked the better of two bad candidates.
I can't say, I didn't vote for either of them

You do if you want to assert he was incompetent (in a legal sense). Otherwise, it's all a buncha opinions.

California Democratic governor candidate accuses Harris, Becerra of Biden decline cover-up

California Democratic gubernatorial candidate Antonio Villaraigosa (D) accused former Vice President Harris and former Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra of engaging in a “cover-up” of former President Biden’s cognitive decline while in office.
In a lengthy statement released Tuesday, Villaraigosa cited revelations in journalists Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson’s new book “Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again.”
“At the highest levels of our government, those in power were intentionally complicit or told outright lies in a systematic cover-up to keep Joe Biden’s mental decline from the public,” said Villaraigosa, a former Los Angeles mayor.

The reason why he was never prosecuted and taken to a court of law was because his mental capacity was so diminished. Lol!

‘What are we doing here?’: Democrats were shocked at Biden’s decline but stayed quiet, according to new book

In the final two years of his presidency, Joe Biden had private moments where he could not recall the names of top aides, had an increasingly limited private schedule, was prone to incoherence and losing his train of thought, and was hidden from the public eye to shield the extent of his decline, according to a new book from CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson.
The book details episode after episode where Democratic lawmakers, White House aides, members of Biden’s Cabinet and Democratic donors were shocked at Biden’s diminishing mental and physical capabilities while the president embarked on an ill-fated 2024 reelection bid. But nearly all did not speak out publicly or try to stop him from running.

It is not mainly Republicans bringing it to light - but members of his own party and CNN reporters/
Bringing what to light? Does somebody have a copy of a diagnosis (Y/N)?

Or could it be, they're just trying to sell a book and generate publicity.

One of Biden's greatest virtues was his appointment of qualified, competent, experienced and ethical staff and cabinet members. Chosen because they were qualified.

He never surrounded himself with incompetents who would never be able to steal his spotlight--and on whom he could cast blame if he himself made a mistake. He was willing to say "the buck stops here," because he knew how to be a team player, having served in Congress for decades.

If--and I say "if" because I haven't read and don't intend to read Tapper's book--he needed some backup he was well covered. His defense secretary was a respected retired general. His Attorney General was a District Court Justice with a sterling reputation. People leading medical departments had medical backgrounds. People in Labor had labor backgrounds, and not as lobbyists. His Secretary of Education had been commisioner of education in his home state. His much-maligned secretary of homeland security was a Cuban refugee who had been an assistant director of homeland security, a director of immigration, etc.

His VP had been the District Attorney of San Francisco, a major city, in 2004, when her successor was still a self-identified hillbilly.

In this situation, there was nothing to fear if he had a senior moment here and there. It wasn't a case of the blind leading the blind. As a team of ethical, experienced people who respected one another, we had nothing to fear. The government was in good hands.
