No I think he’s just being petty.

I dunno. Personally, I think people who get upset because they can't make the lights on a bridge the colors they want are being pretty petty. But that's just me.

On a related note, I was in Florida last year in June. The red, white, and blue lights on the bridges were pretty cool. I'll see them again in 4 weeks when I head down there for this year's family vacation.

Ok lol.

Those people aren’t the governor of a state purposely excluding some light displays while approving others just to play petty politics. If he actually had the stones he would target pride displays directly because we all know that’s all this is about but instead he wants to play dumb games with bridge lights and exclude 5/8s of a rainbow’s colors because I guess some can’t see a pride display without getting their panties in a bunch.

He's conservative. He probably doesn't want to display pride colors because of his own beliefs? Then yes, that would be petty.

What makes red, white and blue any cooler than orange, yellow, green, indigo or violet?

Is that some prerequisite to doing dumb things like this that serve no real purpose other than to antagonize?

Agreed.

No. He only wants patriotic colors. Red, white, & blue. That's his decision, I guess?

When I was in college in the 1960s, the gay activists wanted a day to celebrate their orientation. The school didn't think that was a good idea. So the activists announced that on a particular day, every gay person should wear jeans to class.

Maybe they should just announce that LTBQ colors are red, white, and blue.

I'm not sure how one could think that the colors red, white, and blue are exclusionary, since they represent the country we all live in.

If he actually had the stones he would target pride displays directly because we all know that’s all this is about but instead he wants to play dumb games with bridge lights and exclude 5/8s of a rainbow’s colors because I guess some can’t see a pride display without getting their panties in a bunch.

See, now that sounds like a petty rant to me.

Frankly, I don't care what color the lights are. I just find it amusing to watch people get "their panties in a bunch" because they can't light up a bridge in their preferred color scheme.

The Rainbow Flag was designed in 1978 by Gilbert Baker. Each color represents something.

I agree. What's the big deal, anyway?
