  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

'Most Transparent’ White House In History Keeps Majority Of Trump’s Remarks Secret

Trump's aides released just 20% of the transcripts of his speeches and interactions with the press over his first 100 days, excluding many of his most unhinged comments

Previous White Houses, going back decades, made all of the transcripts compiled by the non-political stenography office, staffed by career civil servants, available in printed form, via email and on the White House website, as a matter of course. Trump’s first-term staffalso published all his remarks, with the exception of his speeches at rallies and fundraisers. Trump’s second-term White House stopped emailing transcripts to its press list just five days after taking office, and of late has largely stopped posting them on the website, too. As of Thursday morning, the last transcript from Trump on the site is from March 13.

Maybe it's because transparency and transcript both start with trans?

The future of history: Trump could leave less documentation behind than any previous US president

[The Presidential Records Act] mandates the preservation, forever, of White House and vice presidential documents and communications.

[The Federal Records Act of 1950 does something similar for other officials, and has been expanded to include email, etc.]

During Trump 1.0, the White House counsel reminded Trump and his administration that they needed to obey this law and not, for instance, rip things up and flush them down the toilet. So far, no similar warning has been forthcoming in Trump 2.0.
