I think we’ve tried this a few times before without much luck in this forum. I have noticed successful chat threads in other forums. Anyone willing to give it a shot here?

I think people get labeled by the topics they discuss here. TLM, NO, Trump, Biden, liberal, conservative, etc. I think just a regular chat threads might alleviate that to some degree. Anyone willing to give it a try?

You mean to just chat in, like 'normie' people ... and not the pinheads that some of us (me!) appear to be?

Could be fun ...

Well not a fun topic I got mom’s final arrangements taken care of today. She’s been worried about it so I went ahead and got it all arranged and paid for. She’s feels better about it and glad it’s done but it’s not a fun thing to do.
Cute.
Maybe even "O'Reilly's Place" ...

("Reilly" ... good Irish Catholic sounding name!)

No, not a fun topic ... but a very important one.

We had that discussion with my MIL when she started having major health issues. She did see the need for it, so that helped. And when she did pass on, it made things so much easier for our grieving family. I think she wanted it that way.

Could be fun ...
... but it doesn't have to be!

These days, I'm personally into incorporating more 'fun' into my life ...
but an OBOB chat thread could also be a good place to share personal prayer requests ...
things we're encountering in daily life ...
things that inspire us, etc. ...

I do sense the current TLM/NO discussions may be causing some (unintentional) decisiveness in the forum.
I don't like that it's happening, so I'm open to ways to help 'bridge' any communication gaps.

Oh no, I meant the thread we used to have. Not sure what happened to it. And yes, I’m only 1/4 Irish. Ireland is a very beautiful country.

Oh ... I did not know there was a chat thread here before.
Thanks for explaining to me.

I am not Irish at all ... but both my late husbands were Irish.
I see that as making me a sort of "honorary Irish person". lol!

Got my Boston Ferns hung up. Lucked out and got them for 4-5 bucks a piece. Planted a few tomatoes and quit. These stents are making me crazy. Anyone started their flower/ veggie planting yet?

Have you ever been there?

My first husband and I were saving up money and planning to travel there ...
but he passed away before we could accomplish our goal.

He was about as Irish as one could get! It would have been a very fun trip.

The photos I've seen of Ireland are indeed very beautiful.

I hear Scotland is also beautiful. I watch some mudlarkers that live there on YouTube.

Now I want to know what exercise you were doing that has you recovering now.

Decades ago, I came across a book full of exercises to stretch and limber up the body, particularly the back. I had a mild back issue at the time, started doing these exercises, and they helped! I liked the routine so much that I've used it on and off for decades, as a sort of morning warm up routine. But I've only sporadically been doing them during the last decade, (<-- hint)

The routine starts with a group of standing stretch exercises, followed by a group done down on the knees, and finishing with a group done lying flat on one's back. Frankly, I was amazed that I could still do them all so well! Afterwards, I went up and took a bath. Still no problems, till after the bath. Suddenly excruciating pain down the right side of my body. :eek:Absolutely excruciating, the likes of nothing I've ever known. The first couple days were extremely rough.

This exercise routine is normally smooth and it flows. I've loved it. But my mistake? I didn't do any sort of 'warm up' before jumping into the routine. And I've gotten older. A routine that's worked for me for decades, resulted in a sprained thigh muscle and sciatica now. Growing old just isn't for the faint of heart ... lol ugh.

Do you do any kind of regular exercise routine? "They" tell us to keep "moving" as we age. I thought I was doing that, but instead nearly ended up disabling myself.

I really don’t have a regular routine lately given my kidney issues that came as a surprise. But I live out in the woods which always keeps me active. Even in recovery I have moved a few pieces of furniture, planted, etc. I have been blessed as far as exercises go. Thank God! :praying: I hope you recover quickly. I know my mom had to take therapy that strengthened muscles etc. I don’t know if you discussed this with your physician but that might help you get on the path to recovery quicker.

Yes. I was in Ireland in the spring of 2017. I also visited England and Wales that year.
