*Quote from Pope Leo XIV.*

I like him already:

" Brothers, sisters…
I speak to you, especially to those who no longer believe, no longer hope, no longer pray, because they think God has left.

To those who are fed up with scandals, with misused power, with the silence of a Church that sometimes seems more like a palace than a home.

I, too, was angry with God.
I, too, saw good people die, children suffer, grandparents cry without medicine.
And yes… there were days when I prayed and only felt an echo.

But then I discovered something:
God doesn't shout. God whispers.
And sometimes He whispers from the mud, from pain, from a grandmother who feeds you without having anything.

I don't come to offer you perfect faith.
I come to tell you that faith is a walk with stones, puddles, and unexpected hugs.

I'm not asking you to believe in everything.
I'm asking you not to close the door. Give a chance to the God who waits for you without judgment.

I'm just a priest who saw God in the smile of a woman who lost her son... and yet she cooked for others.

That changed me.

So if you're broken, if you don't believe, if you're tired of the lies...
come anyway. With your anger, your doubt, your dirty backpack.
No one here will ask you for a VIP card.

Because this Church, as long as I breathe, will be a home for the homeless, and a rest for the weary.

God doesn't need soldiers.
He needs brothers.

And you, yes, you...
are one of them."

Amen to that!
He has certainly got my interest!
we will see how politically selective he is on what constitutes “ lies“ “ scandals “ or “ abuses of power”
Is he a socialist or a christian priest? We will see.

I've seen conflicting reports ...
and that he's not registered as either Party.

So, I do not know, but I've also read where he has voted Republican in some elections.

Maybe this pope will be the pope to all peoples ...
and not just some specific people groups.
I'm hoping he will be pope 'to all' ... and even the Trads! lol

After their initial shock over his election, I quickly saw many Trad podcasters do a 'shift' ... and begin to voice an openness towards the new pope. And a more healthy respect for his position. We lost quite abit of that by the end of the last papacy; it's been refreshing to me, to see that sense of openess and respect slowly coming back.

I looked up his information immediately and it came up

I’m for all people and Republican
I don’t think being a party is an ultimate goal but he votes for life.

He lived in a poor country for a long time and he understands the struggle and I posted a mash up with PJPll

This quote appears to be fake. If one searches for it, you either find people posting it with no indication as to where they got it from, or people wondering if the quote is legitimate.

Indeed, for the above reasons (no sources cited, inability to find it anywhere) this site concluded it was fake:

Granted, I'm not sure why someone would go to the trouble of fabricating this quote. I know some fake quotes from him got spread around because Charles Camosy relied uncritically on Grok and spread some inaccurate quotes from it, is it possible this either came from him or possibly from someone else relying incorrectly on an AI?

I suppose this doesn't disprove it exactly (it does seem disproven as something he said after becoming pope because none of his public statements have that, as noted at the link, but it could have been something he said prior), but its accuracy is highly doubtful because at present I have been unable to find anyone offering evidence he ever said the above quote or offering any source for it.
