  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Trump has sat for only 12 ‘daily’ intelligence briefings since taking office

And the next time aircraft fly into buildings it will clearly be Biden's fault.
Like this come the airport fiascos:

"Sean Duffy: "We're all been reporting and seeing what's happening at Newark airport. And I think it's clear that the blame belongs with the last administration."

Even though this within Duffy's party happens routinely: "80 Republicans Voted Against Funding the FAA, the Agency that Keeps Planes from Crashing."

There were also the DOGE cuts to the FAA. While they stated they exempted air traffic controllers, the outages easily could be occurring due to issues caused by the cuts to support staff.

You got the last one only this week. 18 months after it all started.
Yes, that is the latest one - less than 5 months into His administration - how many did he predecessor get released in the 13 other months - exactly zero
Certainly took his time. Luckily we all knew about the recent US action thanks to Hegseth.
And when did the situation get so bad it needed US intervention? Thanks to Joe Biden the man who has been wrong on international policy for five decades.
I thought that was going to be fixed before the inauguration? So that's a fail.
Oh, and the three years of carnage before - what did Biden accomplish? Nothing
Guess that wall was a waste of time. Mexico will be so pleased they won't have to pay for it. Aren't you embarrassed by Trump lying to you so often about it?
It didn't take an act of Congress like the seemingly feckless Joe Biden - it took a President who had the back bone to act. Are you not embarrassed by Biden and his administration lying to you for three years saying the border was secure?
Of course not when this President arrives he is treated with respect and dignity - unlike Joe and his fist pump - There are CEO of international organization all coming to be a part.

Remember also when the Saudi's would not even pick up the phone?

Saudi, UAE leaders declined calls with Biden amid Ukraine conflict: report

Leaders in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) declined calls with President Biden as the war in Ukraine intensified, Middle East and U.S. officials told The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday.
“There was some expectation of a phone call, but it didn’t happen,” a U.S. official told the Journal regarding a call between Biden and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. “It was part of turning on the spigot [of Saudi oil].”
UAE leader Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed also declined a call from Biden, according to the officials.

'In recent years, Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, widely known as MBS, invested $2 billion in a private equity firm launched by Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. Kushner and MBS developed a close personal relationship when Kushner served as an adviser to Trump during his first term.'
And Trump's wealth went down by $1,000,000,000.00 during his first term and has barely recovered.

Fault finding is getting old and so easily debunked when you look at the whole story -

The cuts to staffing came during the last couple years of the Biden Administration, when hiring came to a stop because the candidates did not meet DEI guidelines.

That's interesting. What staffing cuts during the last couple years of the Biden Admin?

This from the FAA, Jan 31, 2025 :
"he Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) plans to hire and train several thousand air traffic controllers over the next decade. FAA's controller workforce reached 13,853 in fiscal 2023. The FAA hired 1,512 new controllers in fiscal 2023, and has hired more than 4,975 controllers over the last five years."

From "THE AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER WORKFORCE PLAN 2021-2030

***EDIT to add. Much of the FAA information for public dissimulation has been DOGE'ed and one will run into this:

From here: Who are the hostages freed during the Israel-Hamas conflict?

'the majority of those released were freed during a short-lived hostage-and-ceasefire deal that lasted from November 24 to December 1, 2023.'
And when did the situation get so bad it needed US intervention?
A couple of years ago. The US and the Brits have been hitting the Houtis since then. Hesgeth's widely reported attack was just the straw that broke that camel's back.
Oh, and the three years of carnage before - what did Biden accomplish? Nothing
He supported Ukraine. He didn't need to threaten them by witholding armaments or strong arm a deal for minerals. Trump made a promise he couldn't, and hasn't kept. Not exactly breaking news for the guy.
It didn't take an act of Congress like the seemingly feckless Joe Biden - it took a President who had the back bone to act. Are you not embarrassed by Biden and his administration lying to you for three years saying the border was secure?
Immigration was falling under Biden. And Trump said he'd deport millions. Well, if he runs for another 4 or 5 terms then he might just make a dent in that number.
Of course not when this President arrives he is treated with respect and dignity - unlike Joe and his fist pump - There are CEO of international organization all coming to be a part.
At least Joe was brutally honest in his discussions. Which is exactly what you want from your president. Which is exactly what you don't have with yours.
And Trump's wealth went down by $1,000,000,000.00 during his first term and has barely recovered.
I can't take those sort of comments seriously.

As pointed out, this is not accurate but rather a claim by the Trump administration; instead, blaming Biden is just the "go to" for Trump, regardless of how ridiculous he sounds at times.

By contrast, DOGE did cut at least 400, and those cuts are being blamed by some, including in the FAA and the Air Traffic Controllers Union, for the current issues. Some of the cuts are of the maintenance mechanics, and from the issues at Newark we can see why cutting them can easily be a safety issue.

Too many words in those briefings. If it can't be put on a file card, he doesn't want to read it.
Maybe if they were in the form of a graphic novel. Trump could be drawn as he is in those ridiculous cards he issues. 'We'll attack them darn Houtis!' Blam, Kapow!

Only 12 briefings and yet he is orchestrating peace in the Middle East.
He was "orchestrating peace in the Middle East" last time he was president, too. Just like he brought down egg prices "day 1", and won the trade wars he started. He's always just about to keep his promises, but never quite gets around to doing it.

We will know when the president has started reading the briefs when he starts calling out the joint chiefs on truth social in his usual ranting incoherent style.
So far he hasn't and so, operating under his radar (which is set at Springsteen level threats), they are keeping the world safe.

This is the Trump admin regarding intel.
Using a commercial app on a personal phone to detail missile strike plans is perfectly fine.
Having people sit in on high level meetings who have no clearances. is perfectly fine.
When the person who through a FOIA request provides information where all 17 intel agencies disagree with what the head of DHS, the DOJ, and the head of DNI, you fire that person.
It is no wonder why our allied nations are reluctant to share intel with the Trump administration and not having them relieves those within those agencies from not having to dumb it down to sharpie bullet points with Un Kim adulation.

Boom: Trump Appointee Pressed Analyst to Redo Intelligence on Venezuelan Gang

A top adviser to the director of national intelligence ordered a senior analyst to redo an assessment of the relationship between Venezuela’s government and a gang after intelligence findings undercut the White House’s justification for deporting migrants, according to officials.
President Trump’s use of a wartime law to send Venezuelan migrants to a brutal prison in El Salvador without due process relies on a claim that U.S. intelligence agencies think is wrong. But behind the scenes, a political appointee told a career official to rework the assessment, a direction that allies of the intelligence analyst said amounted to pressure to change the findings.
The Trump admin no different than the Trump Org, will cook the books as a normal procedural function of both.
