  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is God woke?

"Woke" originally comes from African American Vernacular English, where it meant being awake and aware. Over time, it evolved into a term for social consciousness, particularly regarding racial and social justice.

In recent years, "woke" has been used in different ways. Some see it as a positive call to awareness and activism, while others use it as a criticism of progressive movements, arguing that it represents excessive political correctness.

The meaning of "woke" depends on the context and who is using it. Some embrace it as a sign of being informed and engaged, while others dismiss it as performative or ideological. So, is God woke?

Which definition are you asking about.

no, there is too much attached to sin and those things God speaks directly against

Psalm 121:4 Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

So God is always awake -

As for being informed - God knows all things

Why not clarify and tell us what usage you are referring to.

So, was Socrates woke? Was Thomas Paine woke? Are we using "woke" to describe everyone who sees a need to make changes in the social order?
This.

I think the term "woke" differs from person to person, in my humble opinion.

God is NOT political. He's neither liberal nor conservative.

He's the source of all being.

He loves us all.

Period.

Yet, in Christianity, that is the only way to understand him.
Yes. We use our language to describe God. Our human language is all we got.

 If you referring to governance and government then God certainly is political. If He is Lord and King, then definitely political. Does He govern and rule the way humanity does, then certainly not.
