Yes, our citizens were free to buy from Canada and Canadian citizens were free to buy from us. Because there are a lot more Americans then there are Canadians we bought more stuff from Canada than they buy from us. That is more or less inevitable given the disparate size of the two economies. Tariffs will fix it by raising the cost of those items we buy from Canada for the American consumer. To the extent that those products can be produced domestically prices will rise, producing more profits for US business. If products are still imported from Canada, then the price increases will be picked up by the government. Less trade, more profit, higher prices--all part of the plan. And none of that money is going to wind up in my pocket. That's part of the plan, too.

I dont think we can any more. The left has completely taken over main stream media. The right, I think, has taken over political podcasting. I dont honestly think there is much of anyone in media who is really neutral despite their political bias.

Do they, really? Trump's approval ratings hover around 40-45%. In comments under youtube videos about this topic Americans side with Canada and against Trump.

And I guess that even people who support Trump do not support his every idea and if Trump was not fixated on this, they would not care at all.

It's no surprise that Americans rank 26th in math. Many Americans struggle to understand that 41 million Canadians can't consume as much as 341 million Americans because 41 million is much smaller than 340 million.
