I still have my hopes on AOC. But the only way for the Democrats to survive (or for a new party that opposes MAGA) is to abandon neoliberalism and become a labor party again. That is the direction they will have to go, Bernie and AOC's direction, whether Bernie is leading them or not.
Kamala was more "qualified" than AOC. But I am not expecting that to prevent democrats from propping her up as the new face of the DNC. All it demonstrates is that the party is finally being honest about who they really are. The party of leftist radicalism because everyone else has abandoned them.

He has almost every trading country at the table right now, and it's going to be on Trumps terms not theirs

Foreign Investment is beating the doors down to open up shop, many companies are returning and the future looks bright $$$

The unfavorable trade with Communist China and the world had to stop, and President Trump said the buck stops here "America First"!

I see the great American turn around becoming visible in the next 6 months, the investment $$$ is already flowing
I sure hope you are right. I'm just as sure that the public isn't going to support Republicans in two years if the economy is bad.

The big "if"
Well if you listen to the left it WILL happen. They all seem to KNOW for sure that it will. I think over all the biggest issue will be Tariffs. That is the only thing I am concerned about in regard to the economy. I have no idea if his plan will work or not. But I'm willing to wait and see.

I honestly dont believe the majority of people in the US are like that. We have almost half the country that are Democrats and/or leftists who will never vote Republican. The other almost half are Republican. Then there are the rest. And they dont care who is in office as long as their pocketbook is okay.

So many Americans dont follow politics and many who dont won't turn out to the polls UNLESS they feel very impacted by something. In this case I sincerely believe the economy will be the number one decider of who wins in two years.

So I am really hoping the economy is going well.

I am an independent and I want both parties to perform well and represent the majority of Americans. I believe that having both parties at their best is crucial because our two-party system relies on checks and balances, which can improve America overall.

As a proponent of free market capitalism, I believe that these tariffs will harm the economy if they are not removed within the next few months. I hope President Trump will negotiate an agreement that does not negatively impact the economy but ends the tariffs, allowing him to claim a victory while enabling the economy to revert to its previous state before the implementation of this tariff policy. This would be the most favorable outcome for the American economy and the country as a whole.

I Agree with your post 100%

And in 6 months to a year America will see economic turnaround that unbelievable IMHO, foreign investment is beating to door down to set up shop in the US, Trump hasn't been in office 4 months and the southern border is closed as tight as a drum, action not words, as the illegal round up is in progress in So. CAL, their hitting Home Depots and grabbing many criminal illegal aliens, and the others to boot

Steel, electronics, auto manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, it's already returning and expanding, the best is yet to come and it's moving quick

America isn't blind to the fact of what the Biden administration did to the American economy, open borders in the Great American giveaway, the Biden shell companies and China bribes

MAGA, America First!

A major concern is stopping world enemy #1 communist China, every dollar gained in trade with China goes to help their Military Expansion, they are tyrants to their people, using them as slaves the CCP must be "Stopped" and tariffs are this war time effort concerning National Security, steel, electronics, pharmaceuticals, that China currently has a strangle hold on world production

The economy doesn't mean a thing if a American doesn't have a job stolen by China to buy goods, tariffs are to put China in check, stop them from currency manipulation and flooding the market with subsidized goods to shut down American domestic production in critical areas concerning National Security

The tariff picture on China is much larger than your words posted explains, they're free world enemy #1 and they must be stopped!

I don't remember China stealing our jobs, I do remember US companies outsourcing to China.

Well Trump is now saying that "we don't have to sign deals" and that "we don't care about their markets". Doesn't sound like he's negotiating deals soon.

I Agree 100%

The great American corporate sell out, to use Chinese slave labor enriching a comminist Chinese CCP, and their own bank accounts, at the expense of the common man

Trumps tariffs are putting a stop to these corporate sell outs and the CCP, about time!

Mexico isn't much different, the country is run by drug cartels, that are directly killing tens of thousands in the US annually, also the local extortion of its citizens, another El Salvador

Great keep the tariff $$$ coming in specifically on Communist China, they'll get the picture soon, the CCP is collapsing before the world's eyes, keep the pressure turned up!

I think you are right. Companies outsourced simply because they could go somewhere and make things way cheaper than in the US.

What we should be doing is incentivizing staying and creating here and creating obstacles for those who want to leave and then sell here. Like tariffs or something.

Yes labor is going to be more expensive here and will cause costs to rise, but I honeatly think Americans won't care about that as long as they know that rhe companies are here creating jobs for their fellow Americans. We could help mitigate that with incentives so goods could be cheaper.

American already get the opportunity to make that choice, and they typically choose cheaper.

And they will still have the choice to choose cheaper. Just now the American made products that actually give Americans jobs will be cheaper.

So am I, but it won't do you any good. I predict that the Republicans are at risk for the same trouble Biden ran into. The economy was good under Biden, just as the Democrats claimed, but the working class was still only getting the crumbs. I see no indication that the situation will change and I see no plan for it to. The working class will continue to be left with the crumbs.

I see the points. I'm not a tariff fan, but the point we are missing is if Chinese goods are as expensive as American goods perhaps we'll get more American made products getting us better jobs and causing prices in the long run to be better.

I just wonder why people are so desirous to support the subversion of the Chinese people. For people to be so concerned about slavery and horrific conditions of workers etc folks dont seem to be concerned at all that we are purchasing products from places that treat their people like that.

Folks want to demand living wages for Americans, which drive our prices up, but then complain like crazy when they lose cheaper prices from places that pay dollars a day if not less for their wages.

The presidenrs goal here seems to be to make American manufacturing return. I dont have any idea if any of this is going to work on any level. Like I've said I'm concerned.

But I'm willing to wait and see instead of immediately claiming the sky is falling.

This^ is a good point. Not to mention the environmental race to the bottom.

I think the answer is: if you want to play in the international trade arena, you need to submit to various international standards. In this regime, China or whoever maintains the sovereign right to withdraw from this arrangement and cease trade with signatory countries. But they cant undercut other countries by, say, using prison labor, or dumping waste into the ocean.

Unfortunately tariffs dont solve that problem. In fact they present an even greater incentive for country X to cut various corners to stay competitive.

If there was a solid, well articulated plan to return certain sectors of manufacturing back to the US supported by legislation and outreach to our allies I think everyone would be on board. Instead we have threatened the entire world and antagonized our closest allies.

Here is an idea, maybe we can consult the people who do know if it will work instead of throwing up our hands and saying "dunno"?

But I'm willing to wait and see instead of immediately claiming the sky is falling.
I'm not willing to play chicken with our economy haqving a guy who can bankrupt a casino at the helm. I wish we could get good jobs back but I have no confidence that this administration is capable of such a feat. It is easy to see exactly how they have set themselves up for failure and I have no desire to see it come tumbling down.
