Crassness was brought up as if this is a new phenomenon with Trump. It’s not. Those past presidents just did not have the internet and media we do today. It’s not an excuse but the fact is, it’s not new. Read about Adams and others. Pretty brutal.

It is probably needed with any leader to a point. President or not. The whole AI pic as pope that Trump posted was stupid but there have been worse things said and done by him and other leaders. The thing that gets me is most that are doing the complaining do not give a hoot about the Church and have complained of everything from the Papacy on down. But since Trump’s failed attempt at humor it’s suddenly just really offensive. Hypocrisy in action from where I stand. It’s all about who did it and an excuse to carry on with their Trump vetching. Anyone else doing it would of been off the radar.

But here's the thing... Put yourself in the shoes of Trump... I've thought about this... To view it as an outsider it's easy to just say, "That's just Trump shenanigans." But I honestly in a million years would never in my life make an image of myself as the Pope. When you come at it from that angle and see that this is a guy who is not even Catholic, talked about being open to being the next Pope, and then makes an image of himself as the Pope, it hits differently.

Well thank you. I just think Trump is ignorant on a lot of things. This? Not even on my radar of things to get upset about. What I found interesting was a lot of people’s reaction to it.

Despite your misinformed views to the contrary, the church has been growing non-stop for 2000 years, includes a third of the planet in its membership, and shows no sign of slowing down.
