Nobody worships Trump as a false God. I know that is the in-vogue thing to paint people with that broad brush but that’s just stupid. I didn’t vote for him but know people that did. Nobody is worshipping him. I think there is more time devoted to the man by people that hate him. It’s all they ever talk or think about.

I can excuse it and move on with practicing my faith and the future events coming up in my faith because I know what his personality is like. Am I supposed to be shocked? The official mourning period ends May 4. Along with mourning, Mass and prayers being said people are preparing for a new pope. Catholics are pretty realistic about the process and are quite used to jokes, ridicule, and false beliefs about the Church. Trump joking about being the Pope is nothing.

I think I am more disturbed that as President he did it than I am about mocking the papacy.
Doesn't he have anything better to do? Like golf or something. Maybe summon a few sycophants for more lavish praise.

While I agree with you about the false outrage, I think this was an incredibly stupid thing for Trump to do, and not something fitting of a president of the United States.
But in the big picture it’s just not that big of a deal
