Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan appeared in federal court on Friday morning and has since been released, the Associated Press reported. Her next court appearance is May 15. Brady McCarron, a spokesperson for the U.S. Marshals Service in Washington, D.C., told the press that Dugan is being charged with two federal felony counts: obstruction and concealing an individual.

An FBI affidavit accuses Dugan of escorting the man, Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, and his lawyer out of the courtroom through a jury door on April 18 when U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents entered the courthouse.

This is a very strange accusation.
Judges aren't usually left alone with the accused, normally judges have at least a security guard or bailiff protecting them. Why would a judge risk their career and liberty to illegally sneak an immigrant out?

Anyway will be interesting to see how this plays out. Is the judge rouge or is the FBI and Trump going after judges they don't like the judgements of. Was this a test case for things to come?

Because they are not immune to lapses in judgment. The accusation is strange enough that it would be even more incredible (I think) that an FBI agent would make it up.

In my opinion, this 8 page thread has not proven at all that the USA is falling towards fascism. In fact, I believe that the opposite is true, considering what I observed from the Federal government and some state governments during 2020-2024. I have not forgotten the draconian lockdowns and mandatory Covid 19 vaccinations.

Garland was a judge, not a Democrat. He was nominated as the AG of the DOJ to uphold the law, not to carryout some political agenda.

With the mandatory vaccinations, it was either accept the jab, or lose your job. I know this for a fact. Also, it cannot be proven that draconian lockdown saved lives. govt didnt make it illegal to have a job if you were unvaccinated. But many employers, including mant govts around the world required their staff to get vaccinated as they wanted a safe working environment for staff and customers

Well, I don't think the judge did what she is charged of doing. It makes no sense. Anyway, the details of this will come out eventually. It is a worry, though that the president and his lackeys may be going after judges who make rulings they don't like.

Do you understand what the Abrego Garcia case is about?
It is about protecting people in USA by insisting that the government follow due process and respect the judiciary.

If you have a government that doesn't need to worry about such things then you have a dictatorship and not a democracy.
Doesn't matter if it is Trump, or Republicans or Democrats. This case is ensuring a government hasn't gone rouge.
