  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Sounds like the sort of thing those evil socialist Europeans would do...
From what I understand, many European countries already have bans on many ingredients because of the health concerns. Strangely, the U.S. is behind the curve on this issue.

Maybe that’s why the US has more rates of obesity and other health concerns? I’m saying that as a (former) obese person.

Not the MSG! That is where the flavor is.

Apparently, MSG causing headaches is a myth.

Edit: it can trigger migraines in some people, so I was wrong. It varies.

Red 40 will invariably be replaced with what they used to use - and still use in some foodstuffs: cochineal. Which is the dried and ground up husks of this bug...

Mmm. Get some now before it runs out.

...which grow on my backyard prickly pear cacti. Maybe I should start harvesting the them?

Perhaps you could make Hershey's Chocolate that doesn't taste like vomit while you're at it.
It’s terrible chocolate but we do have better offerings if you spend a little more.

Doritos are known to be addictive because of the chemicals they use. I can’t sit by someone eating them because they stink so bad. Blah.
I feel the same way about Brussels Sprouts.

Apparently, Europeans hate American chocolate. They have the good stuff ;) but hey! I’ll eat Hershey’s any day!
It's the butyric acid. Makes us think of vomit when we taste it.

Here come the gray gummi bears.

Seriously tho, I support this expanding govt regulation. Will there be the personnel to enforce it?
In CA, more companies make them with real fruit juice.

...if anything, though, adjusting our food additive polices makes sense in an economic sense as well.

Even if people don't believe in the hazards of some additives (and I know the verdict is somewhat mixed due to conflicting reports over the years), the fact that we're missing out on export opportunities over a food coloring agent (that adds nothing of value to the flavor) that could easily be replaced with 5 or 6 other naturally derived options that accomplish the same thing, is shooting ourselves in the foot.

If it makes economic sense, why arent manufacturers already doing it?
