  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Democrats fume over 'due process' for Abrego Garcia despite long history of party bucking the legal principle

Indeed, the lack of due process for Trump and conservatives who supported Trump was a big reason why Trump got elected.
This is the most transparent attempt at gaslighting or an extraordinary display of being confidently incorrect I've ever seen.

OP, in your own words, please explain to the forum what "due process" means.

Yes, it's unfortunate that Trump was imprisoned without having had a trial by jury with defense lawyers present.
Oh, wait...

LOL!!! How ridiculous.

So some of MAGA are crying that many Democrats believe the convicted felon (34 counts), who was found guilty of fraud (taxes, Trump U, Trump Foundation and more), and who found liable of sexual assault should be in jail? He could have been for the felonies he was convicted of had he not been elected president.

In contrast:

Trump rally, and Trump saying "she [Clinton] should be in jail" though she had not been charged or convicted of anything.

And he called for other Dems to be locked up.

Interesting.
So they complained about Trump and said "I want him locked up". And apparently THAT is actually a comparable situation to actually withholding trial. Honestly, what this article actually does is drive a HARD wedge showing the difference between the 2 parties.

Democrats are weak and feckless and Republicans, to get what they want, are willing to bend (or ignore) constitutional rights.

That's a big difference between the parties.

Due process is not necessary anymore.

Republicans acting like they care about due process after Trump's performance on January 6th. :swoon:

We saw the Constitution violated under the Biden administration as never before. Our country is in crisis because of activist judges who are trying to sabotage Trump's efforts on the behalf of the American people.

Funny. You would of thought with the conservatives appointed to the SCOTUS you could of nipped that in the bud. It is almost like the actions don't follow along with the rhetoric.

Slightly off topic response here. But, in my opinion, the SCOTUS has 3 conservative judges, 2 moderate judges, and 3 progressive left wing liberal judges.

Well, it all depends on where one is viewing from. From the point of view of a fish, all of history is up.

Poppycock! Trump is a criminal. Plain and simple. He has always been a criminal and a grifter and a fraudster and a con man. All he values is what he can do to enrich himself with power and wealth. That's it. He has no other motivation. He does not care about this country or Americans or Trump supporters.

oh blah blah blah.
That is factually inaccurate. Was there instance of it? I don't know. No Biden critics ever PROVIDE any.

Was it a situation of it happenning "as never before"? that's utter nothingness.

Our country is in crisis because of activist judges who are trying to sabotage Trump's efforts on the behalf of the American people.
1) Judges have a responsibility to act within the law
2) Trump does too but he doesn't care. AND his supporters don't care either.

So why should judges get out of the way? They have a job to do. And it's given TRump doesn't have any interest in doing his job properly, people are going to hold him responsible.

So how about his supporters pull up the big boy pants and recognize where Trump has over stepped and encourage him to back up since you, actually, appreciate the rule of Law in America...even if it "slows down your ability to get what you want".

47 also uses that phrase "as never before." Mostly because no president has ever tried to shred the Constitution he swore to uphold.

That's eight justices. Who did you miss?

Why do people continue to watch a new station. That they know that lies. This is a huge problem with American's. They keep allow themselves to be lied to. No Christian or anyone should be watching a news station, that constantly lies. And Trump got due process. People elected a proven criminal. And they have the nerve to complain about Garcia.
