  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Court documents say a Border Patrol agent arrested Hermosillo “at or near Nogales, Arizona, without proper immigration documents” and that Hermosillo admitted to illegally entering the U.S.

Hermosillo and his girlfriend, who have a 9-month-old child together, live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and are visiting family in Tucson. He says he has never been to Nogales.

The family later provided officials with his birth certificate and social security card.

A magistrate judge in Tucson dismissed his case on Thursday, and family says he was released much later that night.

Yeah, too bad Timothy McVeigh wasn't stopped and his truck illegally searched.....then we would have missed out on the OKC bombing and he would have got off on an illegal search violation.....oh well......

Why would the border patrol have searched McVeigh's rental truck in the middle of Oklahoma, he wasn't hispanic.

I hope they investigate. If he was never near Nogales, the border patrolman should be fired and if possible criminal charges for filing a false report? Phone location and a timeline should not be hard to show either way. I imagine the government will not be looking though his lawyers sure can.

Um... whats the point here?

Attitudes like that are how you people allowed John Wilkes Booth to prevent the Secret Service from disabling Skynet thus resulting in the death of President Harrison.

In the best Morgan Freeman voice: "He did not, in fact, come back."

If we illegally arrest everyone, all crime will be stopped.

Unlike some of these stories about "guy out on bail commits additional crime" or whatever, there was no crime involved here (except possibly false arrest).

...being a lost hispanic young male from New Mexico without your ID is a crime for some, apparently.

Kidnapping US citizens and attempting to people smuggle them across a border sure sounds like serious criminal activity.

Is the ICE agent a citizen? Someone better check. Maybe he should be deported to El Salvador just in case - he can get his due process there.
