So far, at least nine (now ~40) (now >70) judges, including Trump appointees, have called a halt to Trump executive actions

There are roughly 700 federal district judges, the liberals shop around for judges that practice political lawfare ruling in their favor, to deny this fact would be wilful ignorance IMHO
Please plot out where the Districts that have ruled against the Trump Administration have occurred.
Otherwise we might think that you’re simply parroting talking-points.

The US Supreme Court is the last word, the inferior federal courts are just a bump in the road in slowing down the Trump agenda
That's an odd way to say 'Hey, I guess I was wrong there'.

Judicial political activism in lawfare, the new wave of the decade

If you can't beat your political opponent use lawfare against then
I really can't treat comments on the court system seriously by someone who has plainly shown that he doesn't even know how it operates.

Senator Chris Murphy explains that Trump is using tariffs as a negotiating tactic with individual businesses, economic sectors and even nations as a method of granting favours for pledges of loyalty.

It's not about economics.

It's all about him.

And his hand-picked successors staying in power forever.

To me it seems the would be King is so wealthy and has such little regard for the human suffering of his 'fellow citizens' (whether Democrats or even his own followers who he secretly despises as weak) out of touch, and has such bad malignant narcissism (diagnosed by 27 experts) that he is using "The Art of the Deal" to laugh at the world as he tries to take over. Last term, he was partially nerfed by saner people around him. This term is 'Trump unplugged' - Trump backed by Project 2025 let loose on America and the world.

Judge's block on deportations to third countries will remain in effect through next week

Some migrants are being sent to countries where they have no prior connection.

U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy said his recently issued temporary order blocking such removals would remain in effect for another week while he considers issuing a longer-lasting preliminary injunction, which has the potential to stall the frequently used deportation approach taken by the Trump administration.

Two days after Judge Murphy issued his temporary order blocking the deportations last month, the Trump administration announced that it had removed 17 alleged members of Tren de Aragua and MS-13 to El Salvador's notorious CECOT mega-prison. According to the plaintiffs, at least two of the men on those flights had final orders of removal to Venezuela and were never given the right to challenge their removal to El Salvador.

According to the plaintiff's lawyers, one of those men is Maiker Espinoza Escalona, who entered the United States last year with his partner Yorely Bernal Inciarte and their one-year-old baby. Inciarte has been detained at a detention center in El Paso, Texas, their baby has been in government custody

Is the government complying with that block?

I really hope America's democratic institutions are ready to confront what might be just around the corner. I hope this does not unfold as hypothesised here - but the pieces are all falling into line. As Dan Carlin's "Common Sense" podcast showed - the President's powers have been growing across the 20th Century. And now just the wrong sort of guy has turned up to abuse them! (This went for 90 minutes and was captivating!)

But now this economics Professor is raising the alarm.
Things could happen soon. 8 minutes

The federal judges are just a bump in the road, unelected officials trying to control the executive branch that's wasting time and taxpayer monies trying to delay the Trump agenda
And what if this Trump-agenda goes against the law? Isn't it the judges job to watch over the application of the law, whether this is in opposition or in agreement with the Trump agenda?

I get the impression some Trump supporters are so excited about some of his policies that they want them enacted at all costs. "More power to him!" The problem is, the more a nation goes down that road - the more they are chipping away at the balance of powers.

The Congress has gradually lost power over the 20th Century. I'm no expert on Australian law - let alone American law. Yet I understand that historically the President did not have the sole power to declare tariffs. Congress had to. That got chipped away.

Abraham Lincoln thought the President should have extraordinary emergency powers in a time of law - to conduct the war! But he thought it was crazy to give the President the power to DECLARE a war that would then provide all that extra power!

But then the world invented ICBM's and a war that could be over in 40 minutes - so that idea got chucked.

Gradually, slowly and surely, the President has assumed more and more power.
The Congress is almost impotent in the face of all that Presidential power now.

So here's my question to MAGA supporters - while that might excite you now when you sort of agree with some of Trump's agenda - what if Kamala had won?

Suddenly all that extra power in the hands of one person does not look so good.

That's why we have the "Rule of Law". That's why we have these pesky judges that interpret law and should be able to tell the President what to do when the President starts breaking the law.

America is effectively down a branch of government!

The President is so scary, timid little Democrats are tiptoeing around because they don't want to be hassled by the DOJ, or go to jail, or whatever.

Power used to be shared by Congress, The President, and the Courts.
Now there's just the President and the Courts.

Once Trump declares an 'emergency' (because his illegal orders are not being followed!) your courts are gone.
And so is your democracy.

Again - autocracy can feel OK when you've got this guy in charge.

You struggled to get your guy or gal all the power.
You supported tearing down anything that got in the way of your guy.
But you'll blink, and time will march on.

And then you're left with this guy!

And to understand why the left and even some on the right are a bit freaked out right now?
We think Trump IS that guy!

For some conservatives, Trump looks like the bees knees, and their answer to this conundrum is to make sure that "their guy" stays in absolute power perpetually.

The recent SCOTUS ruling in favor of President Trump has basically stopped the liberal district courts practicing lawfare

We have 3 branches of Government, and it doesn't include the 700+ district Court judges

A 9-0 order from the Supreme Court is a stop of lower courts?
I don't think so.

The immigrants cases should have been filed in Texas where they are detained, their ACLU and lawyers filed in DC, after their due process reviews are complete they will be deported in the vast majority

It's my understanding that illegal alien Abrego Garcia will be returned and also be provided due process, and it's my opinion he will be deported after his return in the near future

Anti-Trump judges brutally slapped down with groundbreaking bill

Nationwide injunctions granted by federal district judges that impact all Americans may soon be a vestige of the past after a Republicans pushed through a bill to help the Trump administration.

The House passed the 'No Rogue Rulings Act' Tuesday 219 - 213. The bill now heads to the Republican-Senate, which is expected to pass the measure.

The bill restricts federal district courts from issuing nationwide injunctions, except in certain instances, and is aimed to curtail judicial blocks on the Trump administration's agenda.

'These rogue judge rulings are a new resistance to the Trump administration and the only time in which judges in robes in this number have felt it necessary to participate in the political process,' the bill's author, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., said this week.

The 3rd branch is the Judiciary, not the Supreme Court. The judicial branch includes the Supreme Court, the 13 Circuit Courts of Appeals, AND the 94 District Courts.

This is hilarious. I mean, if not the judicial, then what branch of govt would federal district courts be in???

Maybe its the secret 4th branch you can read about in code if you hold the constitution upside down.
